Why put a plow on a Rubicon?

2006 Rubicon with 145k frame looks great along with the paint etc. The dealer decided to add the brand new plow, and in the listing says Jeep has never plowed. If I wanted a Jeep to plow my driveways it wouldn't be a Rubicon what a waste of a great Jeep.

I'm not in the market for a Rubicon, but if I was the first thing I would do is tell the dealer to remove the plow. I don't know about other people living in the snow/rust belt but if I'm plowing I want an automatic also.

I plowed with a 98 sport 5-speed with the 2.5L. It had a Meyer's classic 6'-8". Fun plow rig and plowing in a manual vehicle is personal preference. I mostly stayed in 1st with the blade down. Now, the NSG might be too slow in 1st and not have the sack in 2nd.

Odd how Fisher eMatch won't configure a 7'-2" Homesteader on a 4.0L TJ... Must be too much weight on the front end.

Ok that is my I don't get it post of the day.

I managed to piss off the vast majority of Lance Camper owners when I posted up many examples of shoddy workmanship, low quality parts, and just general items that show Lance is really not any better than the crap camper companies out there. They were for the most part heavily invested in the "Lance cheerleading club" and did not take kindly to someone who views that piece of shit as nothing but a tool that solves a problem. It is a fancy tent with running water and a toilet. It is not some badge of honor that causes collectors worldwide to view you with envy if you happen to own one.

The justifications for their bullshit were beyond entertaining though. I pointed out several examples of screws not run in straight.

Oh, well, Lance uses import labor that is low skilled. Sorry bucko, any but the lowliest functioning life form on an assembly line gets that excuse for a pass on his first day, he is a skilled screw installer on the second day and that should not be happening.

They have to build them in a hurry to make any profit. Oh, you mean just like all the rest of the shit camper companies out there?

But Lance is better. Oh really? Alright, post up all the parts that Lance uses that are next level from what everyone else uses. Near as I can tell, it is the same appliances, same plumbing, same 2 dollar shower head, same door props, same photo paper wood grain on the cabinets, same everything. Point out one thing that Lance buys and installs that isn't used by everyone else.

So, what you have run into is how most of the world views Jeeps. They are a tool that solves a problem, nothing more.

I drove by saw a nice looking Jeep, and like always I had to stop and drool .

I don't know about other people living in the snow/rust belt but if I'm plowing I want an automatic also.

A stick works great to plow snow.

I use a regular cab ram with a manual to plow my business out. I prefer it over the auto because there are times where I need careful blade placement (around vehicles) and I can let the clutch out and the engine rpm just moves the machine all by itself.
If you're trying to set a speed record abd plow a wide open area...the auto is quicker.
For my plowing needs the manual is much better.

I would never buy a Jeep with a plow hanging on it. Wouldn't even slow down to look. They are not intended to be used with one. Don't want one with a balled up front axle. Hell, wouldn't buy a tractor with a front loader either. Same reason.
Would rather get a loader for it and then know I didn't abuse it.
Wouldn't want to buy a Jeep with big fat wheels and a bunch of cool-guy stickers on it either. Just reeks of probable abuse.
I can't be the only one that thinks like that, am I?

Because you want the plow mounts to get stuck every time you go off road. Thank God I don't have any real experience with that but I do know some idiot that does.
