It looks to me like there's space to add angle iron on top, at least on the passenger side.
How does the driver side look like?
The idea was to increase strength without compromising clearance. But if you don’t have roof, you don’t have room.Nope not enough room unless I wanted the front of the skid plate a lot lower. And that wouldn't be any good. Plus what would be the benefit to add angle iron to the tops?
You wouldn’t need to run it all the way, since the added thickness of the bolted connection to the belly skid would increase strength on it’s own, I think.View attachment 565643

And you couldn't run it all the way because the skid has to mount to the belly skid.

Been enjoying the videos of how well the Jeep is driving!
After lifting my Jeep and it being a freaking dog chasing a squirrel driving event, I have to ask how did you get your alignment well enough?
I need to check mine again just to make sure that it's OK.
I've got the TMR DIY alignment tool. https://www.tmrcustoms.com/collections/trending/products/diy-toe-alignment-tool

Jeff,
Since you double plated your angle iron have you bent your skid plate again?

I didn’t do anything to the angle on the under side of the skid
Man, that skid has been modified so many times it's tough to remember. I didn't do anything to the angle on the underside, it's still the 1" x .250 angle that came with it. That bent a few times, after which I added a 1.5" x .250 square tube on the top of the passenger side. There is no room to do the same on the driver's side. Despite my normal abuse, it has not bent yet.

Just checking toe? Any checking of the axles squareness?
When I had a before/after on my 4" at the dealership (best option locally who does lifted Jeeps so they would understand the adjustable arms), unfortunately they didn't give a comparison printout... But it went from scary-to-drive, to bring a go kart on rails.
Seen the videos of you up in the speed, I'm amazed you're as dialed in on your setup.
I don't know if you have a name for your jeep but Gizmo comes to mind.
Keep up the dedication and great work!
