Wildman's TJ is getting a face lift

A plumber knows 2 things.
Shit rolls down hill and payday is on Friday.

Reminds me of what the old electrician told my dad on his first day at work as an apprentice:

10 O'clock is coffee break, Friday is payday, and the boss is a no good son of a bitch!

My father used it in turn with a shit ton of apprentices over the years.

What's going on with your water?

Been waiting all week for a contractor to come fix it.... My sister is coming over with their backhoe today and we're going to dig up the waterline. So hopefully I'll have water tonight or tomorrow at the latest. It's been a freaking nightmare. I can't believe these contractors around here. And then that they couldn't at least call me back to say they couldn't do the job.

Then because they're coming over to help me I've got to go to their cabin Sunday & Monday to help unload lumber. Should be back home Monday night... Work on the Jeep & road/trail test it Tuesday then go dump the holding tanks and refill the propane Wednesday. Then get things ready for my MT wheeling trip so I can leave Saturday... Not how I was hoping things were going to play out but got to deal with the hand delt right?

That sucks. Well you know what they say, if you want something done right...

At least they have a backhoe. Moving lumber beats digging a big hole. That sucks hopefully you can get it fixed easily once it's dug up

We got it dug up and found the break in the line. And it was where I'd thought it was.
Funny part is I say it's the water company responsibility..but it's on my side of the meter. So even though it's their pipe it's my repair.

Y'all don't know what hard diggin' is. Here's what I have to use to dig water line trenches at the sab homestead:

That's for the rough cutting. For medium work, I use a full-size pneumatic jackhammer (that thing kills my arthritic bones), and then for the fine detail I have an electric Bosch demo hammer with several chisel and spade tips.

I live on a big limestone rock that has 2-12" of clay on it. Miserable for digging, and somehow I always end up doing the big projects in summer when it's hot and humid!

Talking about how hard digging is, then doesn't mention a shovel once 🙄

I imagine that wasn't mentioned in the real estate listing?

Didn't need to be. I knew what I was in for. It was either that, live 70 miles from work, or live in a floodplain (where all the silt settles on top the rock). Cuttin' rock is a short-term hardship. Commuting 2.5 hours a day is a soul-suckin' proposition. Dealing with floods, well just ask those parents who just sent their daughters to camp in Kerrville and never saw them again how they feel about floodplain livin'... :(

Thank Goddess - hope you have no further PITAs to deal with, Jeep or otherwise.

It was an ordeal for sure.... Now fingers crossed nothing else goes T-U in the house for a while.... Of course my home is 20 years old so things are starting to need replaced... I've done the kitchen & laundry... My hot water heater is 20 years old so it's going to need to be replaced soon...

Got to clean tools up and then hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to work on the Jeep... Start getting things ready for my trip that I'm leaving for next weekend. Got a laundry list of things I hope to get done.
