Will this head unit power Infinity Kappa speakers?

That's true theoretically, but car speakers sensitivity ratings are more often BS than real world truth. They can measure it any number of ways to get higher numbers, because they know high numbers (written on the box or specs) sell better, just like exaggerated power handling.
You can claim the manufacturer's specifications are BS if you feel the need for some reason but I wouldn't myself. What are you going to believe, the manufacturer's specifications or someone who claims to know better? I know what I'd believe. Few people understand the specs anyway, especially the Sensitivity rating. My background is EE and I went by manufacturer's specifications when I was in the industry.

If you want to prove you're right and the specifications are wrong, it's easy to measure the sensitivity and show us the results if you have the correct lab equipment. And if you think about it, do you really believe a mainstream/well-known speaker manufacturer like Polk is going to risk their reputation on exaggerating their specifications? I sure don't... they're too easily measured and checked.

They won't fit into the sound pods used starting in 2003 but they should fit fine in the sound bar used in 2002 and older TJs.

You can get both the Polk 6.5" and 5.25" speakers for the same price as those 6.5" Rockfords.

These Polk speakers are great, many TJ owners have installed them and there have been zero complaints. If you ever decide to amplify them, which I do recommend, then both pairs of Polks will be easy to match up since they have similar amplification needs.

Reviews are sometimes misleading, but, look at the reviews on Crutchfield, those Rockfords have only 5 reviews vs 500+ for the Polk 6.5". Why spend double the money for less of a speaker?

I know most specs are actually BS. I could measure it, you only need a db meter which I have in my REW software, a measurement microphone which I have and have used to measure the frequency response in my car to tune it, and a place in free space to measure the speakers output at a distance of 1 meter, which isn't hard to do. I doubt I'll waste the time to do it, but maybe if I get bored one day...

Thing is, it's a numbers game, and pretty much everybody plays it, and they all kind of have to right. I mean if brand A claims their speakers sensitivity is 93db, and brand B is honest and says theirs is 85db, most will choose brand A, so brand B claims about 93db as well.

The normal "accurate" method of measurement is a speaker with 1 watt of input, at 1 meter, with pink noise, but that's not a rule that anybody has to live by. Often times you'll see the measurement 90db 1w/1m, or 90db 2.83v/1m. 2.83v is only 1 watt at 8 ohms, it's 2 watts at 4 ohms. So a manufacturer could use 2.83v instead of 1w for their 4 ohm speaker and now the speaker is going to measure 3db higher. They may also measure at .5m, that increases it as well, and probably a few other ways like at a specific frequency. Next thing you know, their speaker looks to be a good 6 higher than it really is. Is it flat out lying, no not really, but it's not accurate either.

It doesn't matter really, because as I mentioned earlier most car speakers of the same size, and similar frequency response will be within a db or so from each other anyway, so whether that number is really 85db, or the 93db printed on the spec sheet, they are all very similar in sensitivity.

Meant for @Nick21

Is this similar to the polk db 652? It looks like Amazon doesnt have the 652 eligible for prime shipping

That is the DB652, just misleading. If you zoom in on the second image you can see the DB652 emblem on the backside.

Any reason you do not want to order from crutchfield? They have free shipping for orders over $35, and they send you free mounting brackets (for the 5.25") and wire adapters. Also, same price and good customer service.

I would order from crutchfield but I already have the adapters and i was ordering other stuff from Amazon, so i thought it would be easier to get everything from the same place

makes sense, but free brackets and harnesses can be sold to other people so you may be able to make a couple bucks back and reduce your overall cost. I sounds like a Crutchfield salesperson!!!

Crutchfield is especially good for head units. Factory warranty, wiring harness and vehicle specific wiring diagram are included so oem wiring stays intact, and dash kits are included. A lot of cheaper places aren't authorized distributors so the only warranty is through them. If it even exists.
