Windshield frame / overhead differences from 97-02 and 03-06

I'm looking at CB radio mounts and overhead consoles that fit with a hard or soft top and keep noticing they either fit 97-02 or 03-06 TJs. What's the difference? Is the difference mod-able or swappable?

03 up has the 3 piece plastic interior trim that goes around the windshield

Which can either be removed or trimmed where needed to allow things made for 97-02 to fit.

Yep, that's the one. I noticed the difference on the rugged ridge windshield mounts, too, but I'm seriously looking at the Tuffy overhead because I don't want any shiny electronics temping anyone to slash my new soft top. Do you happen to have any pics of the mods you had to make or pics of it installed? Also, how is your head clearance with it installed?
