Gents,

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the TJ, specifically related to front and rear turn signals and running lights?

Not sure what year your Jeep is, but here’s one for a 2004.

I know this is an older thread,,can not tell by the diagram in the FSM.. the rats destroyed the connector for rear O2 sensor.. at the connector is where the 4 wires change colors,,, any help with which color wire goes to which color wire would be MUCH appreciated!

I thought a picture of said wires was being posted,, apparently my phone is to slow for that,, trying to attach a picture of wires on Jeep side,, the O2 sensor has a black, gray ,and two white wires

It's all in the wiring diagram linked in post #2 above, but since nobody seems to want to click that link... these are from your 2000. If the wires on your O2 sensor are different you'll have to match pin to pin to map your wire colors onto the FSM colors.

little confused on wire colors. ex. Bk/YL at first I thought "oh two wires..... black and yellow""..... nope... that is one wire that is Black with Yellow trace.. OK... all good there.... but ahhhhhh........ there is two pins, thus two wires on the connector! what is the colors of the other wire??... or is it irrelevant?

Am trying to find Oil Pressure and temp sensor connectors.. hence need for wire colors... everything was disconnected and the harness moved around enough to not understand (plus ton of unused connectors in this engine swap

ahhh. follow the line down further from sensor shows the second wire color.

I've also got a dissconnected 3 wire connector that I am positive PO used. Actually he hacked it in... put preserved end of Jeep pigtail ... and it ... going by colors.... is also related to the Oil and temp sensors.... now just to find what it plugs too.

The colors in the FSM aren't 100% reliable, but they usually are. If the color doesn't match, you'll have to trace the wire to the other end and then match it up to the pinout on the connectors diagram near the end of section 8W in the FSM.

Trying to wrap my head around what you wrote there... Some oil pressure sensors were 2 wire, some were 3 wire, but I think I've only seen the 2 wire on earlier TJ's. The 3 wire gets 5V & ground from the computer, and the 3rd wire is the actual sensor signal fed back to the computer. IDK how the 2 wire works; I don't know that I've seen a diagram for it. The temp sensor is 2 wire 100% of the time, but the only wiring they could have in common is the ground wire.

Do what you can to restore the factory wiring. It will make future troubleshooting much easier.

appreciate your reply.

Solved the mystery. And It is 3 wire connector.. it attaches to the sender itself. Didn't help that what I thought was the sender on my replacement engine that has a connector on it already .... is actually something else, so I didnt think to look for anything but something in the harness mystery wire/connector was suppose to connect too since a connector was on the sender. duhhhh.

so here is what happened... the engine I am putting in, is same model engine (Mercedes). the previous owner had in it. PO wired it up (good in concept... shiaty in process... lots of wire nuts grrr).. PO did keep OEM Jeep connectors etc. and grafted it to the MB stuff. After much thimking., crawling around, searching the net looking at schematics and pics of 4.0 jeeps and 617 MB's finally..... one picture triggered a memory. PO used the OEM Oil filter housing relocated with a remote kit AND "it had the Oil sender attached to it" Duhhh... that other sender is NOT the oil sender after all. Assuming the sender on the engine was the oil sender was my downfall. Apparently it has something to do with the Glow Plugs.

On my swapped in engine.. I am NOT using OEM as a remote filter. So my eyes never passed the sender the Mystery wire/connector goes too. Am using a different remote oil filter set up. So .... not putting two and two together right... was killing myself looking for a spot in wire harness to attach this mystery wire/connector too when all along the connector actually goes to the sender itself which was put away in storage attached still to the OEM filter housing... (me = Elstupido)

Luckily my brain occasional works... just slow and finally worked enough to solve this. Now I have to install a sender and connect (no longer) mystery wire to it.

The replacement turbo oil feed line purchased for this install has a spot in it to add a sender. Rarely does my brain work right twice in a row.... then again guess it is not actually twice. it was many many months between when I ordered the turbo feed line and today when I solved the mystery.... so maybe I was due a random smart moment again. Will look for the blue moon tonight

Now to find the right AN4 plumbing parts to add this NPT oil pressure sender to it. (another damn delay ordering parts... grrr)

I just re-read your profile. That's quite a frankenstein you've got there.

Well none of them hang out here.

there is actually a couple discussions on the MB conversion in here as well as a few TDI conversion topics. Though your right that think Im only one of them swapping to a NP242 AWD/4WD T-case

When SHTF LOL..... I'll suck out your motor oil after you abandon your jeep cause it ran out of petrol ..... and use that motor oil as diesel to keep on driving :)

(why is editing grayed out?? wanted to add different emoji I dont know keyboard code for)
