WTF are these rear sway bar end links?

Hi all - I have been working thru the suspension on my new to me LJ. It has 168K and everything looks original. So far, I replaced the front track bar, did the ZJ upgrade and replaced drag link, replaced front sway bar end links, and front shocks. I also did my own front end alignment. Today, I went to replace rear end links and found the one on the left. It appears to be maybe hard plastic or maybe rubber. My replacement worked fine. I was expecting something more like that.

For the record, you guys are awesome. First Jeep and did all this thanks to you!

Well ... then they are original like everything else. Newbie showing through. All the replacements I saw were like the other one. Thanks guys!
