Please can someone help me. I cant find a rear wiper motor for my 1998 Jeep Wrangler sport.. I've checked google and nothing shows up for my model year. I dont get it. I've seen YJ motors and 2003-06' TJ motors but nothing for 97' to 02'. Any suggestions. I'm desperate..

Rock auto is a rebuild and return service by Cardone. I wouldn’t trust anything rebuilt by Cardone.
I agree, but if OP does have trouble locating one, may be worth a try. Worst case scenario, it burns the Jeep to the ground.

If you have the mounting brackets from the original, you can order the rear wiper motor for a 95 Blazer for about $45. Its the same motor, same mounting surface.

That type of motor has two extra wires (red and gray) that the Chrysler motor did not. You splice the extra red wire into the existing yellow wire and leave the gray wire alone and it works perfectly with the Wrangler rear wiper switch. The spline sticks out a bit further than the original motor so I used some rubber washers to snug it up firmly against the glass, other than that you'd never be able to tell.

You can make a thread on the how to section for an alternative rear wiper motor if there isn’t already one.

We found a remanufactured one this week for my 97 TJ. I didn't have any luck online, so I asked my mechanic to give it a go. After about six calls, he found one. I had it installed this week. Works great. It is 40-449, and he sent my core which wasn't too bad. It worked when it wanted to work. So, they will probably rebuilt that one too. So, they are still out there, just a bit hard to find.
