I installed a locking gas door, nothing expensive as I picked it up second hand. Someone has stolen 2 gas caps off my Jeep, no gas mind you just 2 caps. Hope this will at least slow them down a little.

That's the same one I put on mine, albeit mine came with a cheap-ass Chinese black paint job that needs to be refreshed. I've never understood why American cars traditionally don't come with locking caps/flaps. I've been retrofitting one or the other for decades.

IKR, I thought about painting this one yellow just for @Fishtaco and @TheBoogieman I saw a black one but it was 30 something on ebay, this one was $20.00 and I picked it up 5 miles from the house. I didn't really want black on black either.

I thought it was just Jeeps. First thing I did with my TJ wa fit a generic locking filler cap.

locking filler caps came in here during the 1970s oil shock. Siphoning petrol was common.

Any number of Chevy/GMC trucks that I've seen or been involved with from the 60s forward didn't have them. I owned 3 Fords in the 80s/90s: an F-250, a Tempo, and a T-bird - ditto. Three Japanese - two of them had locking flaps, the third did not. Wife's 2014 Fiat doesn't have one either, which is slightly shocking to me, especially since our '87 Yugo actually had a locking cap. '73 Cutlass didn't have one. Had to buy locking caps for all of them. *shrug*.

I spent Christmas in Sydney in 1972 and it was cold and wet. Went back a couple months later and it was beautiful and warm. I really liked my time there.
Perths totally different to Sydney its a bit more predictable with clear blue sky's and blazing sun from December to May.
We have a westerly sea breeze at or around noon everyday which is a saviour, they call it the Fremantle Doctor so on most days its too windy at the beach in the afternoon until around 5pm, most people go to the beach early then come back late afternoon., Fremantle is our old port city.

I had another road melt today (bleed) pain in the ass as we will have to keep a watercart out over the break because its going to be so hot :(

Mine came with a factory locking cap, how hard would it have been to have the locking cap as standard? and I agree an all black TJ needs Breaking up at bit! Now the new cap has opened up the door for a brushed Ali front and rear bumper :)
