Sway bar mounts on both sides and upper control arm mount are toast

Bummer , I guess my main question was I want to go back with Stronger, Any ideas ?

Barnes 4wd and Artec both make good brackets.

Cant find just the sway bar bracket alone from either. Only included in the coil bucket kits.

Core 4X4 makes a nice adjustable arm with lots of options and prices.

Savvy or Rock Jock are the gold standard. Double adjustable is really nice when you need to dial something in.

There are a number of fab parts suppliers who offer the sway bar tabs in 1/4" thick. Those would be stronger than the stock ones you broke.

It appears you have adjustable links so you could go with raised tabs. Those would move the mounting point up, shortening the link. This could possibly reduce the leverage on the tab in the event that you side-loaded them somehow?View attachment 298751

There is something odd going on. The only time an arm breaks like that is when the front axle is shoved into a ditch hard and has to power out. That damage usually also bends the stock axle side forward. I don't see any of that going on.

The sway bar link mounts breaking also points to a larger issue. I've messed with 100's of front axles and have never seen them break like that.

Man I respect you and know your a expert in this kinda thing but I have no idea , it was just another day in the Ozark mountains for me . How would you suggest I fix all of this making it stronger so this does not happen again ? Thanks , Kurt

I don't know what you have going on but it certainly isn't normal and my concern is while beefing up the components is a good idea, that doesn't give me a warm fuzzy that we have actually solved the problem.

If it was just one or the other, I'd be less concerned but with the arm breaking like that instead of the usual bending and broken link mounts, someone needs to get eyes under there and see if they can figure something out.

Possible that was just a defective aftermarket stock replacement arm based on the logo, but something ain't right.

Need some pics of shaft showing at ride height on the shocks. A possible scenario is high speed driving that is bottoming out a too long shock. That would hammer the shock mount down and then the upper arm axle mount back into the arm. If the swaybar links get caught under the frame, that would shove the axle side over and with enough hammering break them off like the pic shows. Springs turning in the buckets also points in that direction.

All pure speculation trying to make something fit the damage.

Was that on level ground? That mount wasn't bent over. It broke straight front to back. Something has been hammering it.

That was my first reaction also, so I posed the question "What did you hit?"

Sounds like he may have blacked out after impact and doesn't remember what the cause was?

Well …. I am not sure how to answer, I know I probably drove it for a while with a broken sway bar mount . So maybe it put more pressure on the other side ? And that caused the other side sway bar mount to crack ? Maybe then the control arm folded ?

Yes I replaced the entire front end , everything when I put body and suspension lift in during Covid . I believe the control arms came from O’Rielys auto parts . So what sway bar replacements would you recommend? 1/4 inch and I also need to replace my upper control arm mount on the axel where you see the broken control arm . What would you recommend?
