Windshield Frame Guards

Sure hope not. I haven't used UCF but their rep is good enough that I'd expect better. I'll post pics of both sides when mine shows up, probably next week.

thank you! that would be good to know. I'm happy with my UCF skid and the welds look proper on that, though they're all angled and naturally provide a gap without calling for a bevel. Maybe the photo is of a prototype. The welds on the Barnett diff covers everybody is so fond of seem to look way better in production than the marketing photos.

I wish I could find one of those diff covers :/

Those aren't mine, not sure if you thought they were. I run a Warn skid over an oem hp30 cover.

..and I run a Rock Hard cover over an OEM Dana 44 cover up front. Same style on both ends of the XJ. In my mind these are a better option to keep impact on the perimeter of the diff instead of dead on. i had to keep the HD G2 cover on the rear since the JK Dana 44 cover I had allowed the drain plug to contact the ring gear.

I'm almost never a brand-whore, don't run any decals anywhere, but I thought that W cutout would look so cool over a contrasting cover that I spent extra for the Warn even though I'm pretty sure the Rugged Ridge is functionally identical and like $50 less. I even came across some with a Jeep cutout but they were even another $50 more and that was just too much. :ROFLMAO:

Mine is cutout RH with I think stainless behind it... pops, if anyone ever looks there..

I also don't run decals/stickers anywhere.. not even our 'club' decal. I had them plastered on my XJ rear side windows and pulled them after a month.

I also do NOT name my vehicles:rolleyes: or gender assign them :rolleyes: and I dish out crap to those who do.:giggle:

haha. My last TJ was forest green pearl and slow with oversized tires and factory gears, so my wife called it Gump and it stuck. The LJ doesn't have a name and I'm not trying to come up with one.

I couldn't justify the cost of the windshield guards and went that route. I thought about just cutting the tabs off though. They cover my dent well and gave me a place for my lights for $25.

I have these from the p.o. And thought about cutting the light at tabs off too. I went to take them off and the hardware was rusted and definitely not the oem torx bolts from the factory. I couldn’t back one out so I gave up on removal. ….then I wired up the lightbar. I’m not a fan of light bars , this is my first one. But I am a fan of extra light!! I also removed the P.O.’s Limb risers too.

Speaking of... any favorite brand limb risers out here? Or brand to avoid. Steinbrenner, Steinhagen, Frankenstein, or whatever the hell the name is are $150, that ain't happening.
I have whatever cheap $50 version they sell on Amazon. If I could fab up the brackets on either end, I could build them with identical parts for about $25.

The trails in Oklahoma tend to run a little tight so they can be helpful, but what I found after running them the first time is that there are certain types of branches that either don't get caught by them or they slide off prematurely. Basically they had a degree of effectiveness, but not nearly as effective as I imagined. You could still easily end up with a branch in the face.

I can think of one situation in the last 20 years where the limb risers would have saved me a windshield. I can think of 15 or 20 situations where they would have been a PITA.
They also look to me like they'd be noisy on the highway.

Situational use. Nothing says they have to be on there 100% or that they have to be on there on the highway at all. If I have time to air down I have time to connect/disconnect risers.
