Lift installed... kind of

Over the weekend I installed the 2.5" rough country lift.. Almost. I ran into a problem - My rear top shock mounts both had very rusted bolts. The heads of all 4 bolts broke on the first turn of the wrench, even with PB Blaster soaking them for 15 mins prior. So I have no rear shocks. I have it at a shop now to get the bolts removed and shocks installed so I won't have to ride around like Uncle Buck. Its on 30 inch tires now. Once I have the shocks in place I'm getting 32x.1150 on Mammoth 15x8 wheels. I'll post the finished product once its complete. Until then ill be enjoying (hating) driving my brother's honda element.
P.S. Anyone notice how garbage Rough Country's instructions are? Geeeeze.

oh yeah the rusted top shock bolts in the rear . I had that issue in one of mine a while back. I had to drill it out. I was lucky that at that time I had access to a car lift so working under the Jeep was easy

I think you’re going to need some bigger tires now for sure! It looks great otherwise though.

Those top shock bolts can be a pain in the butt sometimes.

Having a lift is awesome to work and store the cars...I am sorry I waited so many years to get one. At least a jeep is high, try working on a little English car on your back....I am too fat and old for that!

It was my 20th wedding anniversary present to myself, Got the wife 2 Ct Diamond studs and I got a card?? To be fair, we don't usually exchange anniversary gifts....so it presented a perfect opportunity......she also knew there was going to be another car going under the 81 Corvette, so I added a 74 TR6 a year later, she was not however, expecting the TJ only 9 months after the TR6. As the saying goes it much easier to beg for forgiveness than ask permission!!!

Thanks it feels like a new jeep too. I believe its an SE. Other than the 4.0L she's pretty basic

Actually it is an SE! I looked up my build sheet and it list the 4.0L under optional equipment.. So I do have the base model lol
