How to get armor off that was glued on?

bought my used Jeep it has mag armor went to try to take it off and found that the previous owner glued the mag armor on . Any ideas on how to remove ?

Glad you made it here.
It would probally be based on the type of glue used. Try spraying WD-40 on it and let it soak and see if that may start loosing it.

Magnetic panels that attach to the side of the Jeep to prevent Arizona pinstripes, google it

If it's in a safe location on the Jeep, might add a little heat to the panel to soften the glue so you can pull it off.

A heat gun would be my best guess. Heat up the armor and it should cause the glue underneath to weaken to the point where you can get them off. Of course, be prepared for damaged paint underneath.

Some people are real idiots... Can't believe someone glued it on... haha.

I know Chris , I was pretty bummed out when I first tried to take them off , I tried the heat gun but wasn’t happy with the result because of damage . I’m gonna try WD 40 also going to try a product called Goof Off . Worse comes to worse it’ll go to a body shop . Thanks for the reply

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have some work ahead of you. Auto grade lacquer thinner works great to remove sticky gunk once you get the panels removed.

Thanks Rob , the glue is no longer sticky , it’s hardened but if I do get to that point I’ll try the lacquer thinner . Thanks again

No problem! Goof Off eats through paint in short order, but I don't think you have to worry about that, since the paint under there is probably toast anyways. Man... some people just have no common sense, huh?
