For thousands of years music has inspired and moved us. This isn't my favorite song, but it's one that makes my blood pump stronger every time I hear it.
Widespread Panic
Ain't Life Grand
There's too many songs to name, but I think in general people always most enjoy the music they listened to as they came of age during their late teens. For me that's alternative rock of the 90s. Bands like Live, Toadies, Candlebox, STP, Offspring, Everclear, Cake, Foo Fighters, Weezer, No Doubt... It doesn't matter that it's not objectively the best music I've heard...none of those would make a list of my favorite musical artists which would include Zeppelin and Floyd, Rush, Metallica, Queen, Dio, Dream Theater, Coheed &Cambria, Trivium and Opeth when they're not growling... there's just something about 90s alternative that brings me to a time and place when life was new and easy.
The 90s really were a golden era.
To piggyback a little off my dude here, Surprise Valley.
Specifically the first lead riff into when JB says “Kiss the mountain air we breathe”
If that doesn’t make you feel something inside and your hair stand up, I’m not sure what to tell you…
I so wish Derek Trucks had of joind the band when Mickey passed away. As much as I like Jimmy Herring he noodles a little much for me.
