Are Mopar Radiator Hoses Worth Paying Extra?

Anyone here think it’s wise to spend the extra dough for Mopar radiator hoses, they’re about $40 bucks upper and $100 bucks lower… to me it’s nuts because a gates can be had for $40 for the pair!

Anyone else see value in the Mopar radiator hoses???

Th aftermarket hoses I have used have always fit fine so ill stick with them. If you dug deep enough you will probably find mopar hoses are actually made by gates etc

Likely true, but when OEMs contract out that work there's specs that must be met. What the brands sell under their own name might be the next bin down. Whether or not that matters is usage dependent though.

I dont doubt what you are saying but when it comes to a radiator hose...I am the first to buy mopar parts over aftermarket but there are some exceptions..YMMV

Agreed, for hoses I think we are all likely fine. I went non-mopar hoses for my recent cooling refresh.

I recently changed my less than 1 year old NAPA lower to a Mopar lower hose because I couldn’t get it to stop very slowly leaking coolant at both the water pump and radiator ends (only when running). The NAPA hose material seems softer (squishy almost) and the Mopar hose doesn’t leak.

That’s the hose that’s 100 bucks …

I can say the Mopar hoses are NOT just rebranded gates. They have specific markings, part numbers and bends different than the aftermarket.

Not saying any of that matters because gates has always served me well.

Yep. Stupid expensive. In my case, it solved a frustrating problem, so it was worth it. But surely there are other options that work well.
