I am in the middle of replacing the front springs with H & R 52107, I believe the springs that came out are original, they are black with no markings. Shocks appear to be original as well, they have a chrysler logo on them. The "stock" spring measures 17" when removed and the h & r only measures 16"....now I thought the h & r was supposed to raise the vehicle anywhere from 1-2" will this happen when it is all put back together and put on the ground?

Also another issue I am having trouble tightening the sway bar link to the sway bar, the ball is just spinning in the socket not allowing the nut to tighten all the way??

Measure after installing them. Free length is misleading since different springs have different spring rates. The HR no doubt have a higher spring rate and will compress/sag less than the stockers.

that is what I am banking on.....need to hunt down a lower shock bot, snapped one on removal...any hints to tighten the sway bar to the link? the nut is spinning the shaft in the link while tightening.

You can try roughing the surface on the tapered shaft a bit, I used a center punch and added a dimple last time.

You could try jacking one side of the axle to put the end link in a bind. That might tighten the ball socket enough to get the nut tight.

Yes, they are firmer springs and they don't compress as much as the stock ones. So don't worry about that. (I have the same springs).

Yes, you need to put weight on the front bumper while tightening it down. So either get someone to stand on your front bumper while you tighten it or pull down on it somehow by yourself with one hand and tighten it with the other. It needs downward force to tighten.

I used a ratcheting tie down and pulled the sway bar down against my lift and was able to get more turns on the nut. Stupid me did not measure before I did the spings, but may not have done much as I alsi installed a much heavier bumper than before. It look nice when back on the ground.

@EJD where are in NY? in the city itself?

That would work too, the ratchet strap. Glad it worked out, let see how it looks now!

And kinda lived all over NY but yes right now in NYC. Moving in a week though to the great PNW.
