Savvy has the hardcore bumper pieces in stock. I just ordered me some.

I might have missed this but when did they change the plates to steel as opposed to thick aluminum?

What was wrong with the old plates I wonder, I've never heard anyone complain about the savvy bumper let alone when It is done right with the hardcore plates covering the weakest point. Do you think it was actually a matter of not strong enough or a matter of steel is cheaper and easier to work with? I'd love to hear @mrblaine 's thoughts as I'm under the impression that he designed it with the intended use of aluminum?...Interesting. And I quote from their webpage:
"Now made out of steel for even more strength."

Now the most rubbed on part of the bumper will rust every time you scratch the paint on it, yay!

My guess would be the change is related to material sourcing issues? I could be way off base though. I agree, the Aluminum made sense to pair with that bumper and always seemed to be "strong enough" in the past?
Quit running into so much stuff!

That’s my thoughts exactly, oh well guess if I ever get a savvy bumper I’ll be making my own welded corner guards
I figure I can always use the steel ones as templates to make aluminum ones if I desire.
It’s a rough day when even Biden is critiquing my driving
That’s a pricey template. I can always cut a cardboard one off mine if you want
I wouldn't put too much stock in that. He says a lot stuff that doesn't make sense!
