I un-did the unthinkable...

I'm actually happy for ya' as I've never been one to dis the the JKU.
2 Jeeps in the family is an enviable position to be in.
Love the wheels btw.

Yes, after owning the JKU I can say that every generation of Wrangler is different, and none can truly be compared. Hell, I'd like a clean CJ as well, but I imagine those would be a nightmare on long highway trips.

I'm sure the JL will be unique in it's own way too, although it seems a lot like the JK to me, just a slightly different look.

Either way, driving both the TJ and the JKU back-to-back, I appreciate them both for that they are. The TJ is a compact, small vehicle meant for trails and stuff. The JKU is more like a very capable Suburban in that it's big and comfortable (definitely won't go places the TJ will), but it's also very off-road capable (much more so than a Suburban).

Forgot to add the coolest feature to the 10A bumper is that it accepts the AEV tire carrier to hold your 35" duratrac. On the right side of your bumper there is a cap where the carrier goes. Very cool

I didn't know that! I'm assuming the Hard Rock / Recon does this as well, since it looks to have the same bumpers?

That's awesome though. Add one more mod there!

Yep they all do it haha.

So cool... I'm trying to keep it mild, this is my build list so far:
  • Transmission cooler
  • Tuner
  • AEV 2.5” lift
  • AEV Pintler wheels
  • 35” Duratrac tires
  • AEV spare tire carrier
  • Mopar LED headlights (2017+ models)
  • Mopar LED fog lights
  • LED taillights
  • Alien Sunshade
Not trying to have some super long and crazy build. Just something that looks good with quality parts. No angry bird grilles, LED light cubes, light bars, etc. Nice, clean, and simple.

Dark side is right. Should’ve stuck with a mini van.I’m really disappointed in you Chris, posing as a hardcore TJ enthusiast, and now you’re capitulating shows me you never were. Traitor. Who are you, Kylo Ren? :D

Next thing will be angry bird grilles. Don’t tell me it won’t be. Once you go to the dark side you can’t stop. You have to go all in. Just watch guys, watch what happens....

Yea I think that would be all you need on there. I may be wrong but the rubicon's give you I think an extra inch of lift already, so s 2.5" with 35s will be very nice lol. I'm jelly hahaha

And it doesn't stop there... Then I get the 20" rims with low profile tires.

Ahhh, that would be cool if you get an extra inch from Rubicons. Like I said, I could go crazy with it, but it's already so capable in stock form, that I don't see a point in doing some crazy 5" lift and 37" tires or anything. That's just a bit too extreme.

I’ll take you on any day! You want a piece of this! BAM, WHOP. TJ gonna make you DROP!

This whole thing. Man, I’m really struggling...I don’t know man. Running a TJ forum and all. Why not just stretch a TJ and put four half doors on it? You...ah hell

Funny thing is, there's a 4 door TJ around Portland, Oregon that I see from time-to-time. I had to do a double take, but it's a damn 4 door TJ!

Well guys and gals, I did the unthinkable. We kept looking for a different “family” vehicle, and all the while the only thing I could think about is A JKU. Sure, it’s not as roomy as a Minivan, but it gets the job done and I’m much happier driving it than a minivan.

So, now I own a TJ Rubicon and the newest addition... a 2013 JKU Rubicon 10th Anniversary!

Don’t worry, the TJ ain’t going anywhere either. This is just a “fun” second vehicle.

Here she is:
