CD eject button not doing its thing anymore. Pushing eject turns on the radio, but does not eject CD.

Anyone got any ideas on how to get it working again? Do you think adding a second CD (only one in there now) might get the eject mechanism working again? I'd really just like to remove the CD and just use the radio...

In my limited experience the general cause would be a broken belt/elastic (if built that way) or debris that was inside, such as dust, hair or even a piece of the radio itself chipped and fell off.

When you try to eject, do you hear any noises, like a grinding? The best way to figure it out would be to remove the head unit and open her up.

If you only want to remove the CD and listen to the radio, then you could use a paper clip to wiggle it out, or anything small enough to get inside the CD opening.

I had similar on mine, and sent it to "1factory radio" they refurbish completely, and added an Aux input . They are located in Richmond VA, and sell on ebay. The unit has been awesome since the work was done. Yes, could have bought an aftermarket for a lot less, but I'm a stock kind of person, so the cost was worth it for me.

In mine, (with a stuck cd) the repair guy said there was no way to get it out unless you strip the entire unit. Taking things apart is super easy for me......getting it back together is another story... :) Another reason I chose to send it out.

Ray, what did 1 factory radio charge to refurbish the unit and add the aux input?

Was yours the 6 disk player or single cd?

Yes, it is a 6 disc. At the time, they did not have a refurbished exchange player to send me, so I removed and shipped mine to them for the work.

If they have one in stock, I wonder if they'll take mine in exchange, and knock off some of the price?

Do you happen to have a photo of the face of the unit, or could take one and post it?

When I did mine, the shelf price (one they had ready for exchange) was more in cost. Can't do a pic for a while today, however if you go to the 1factoryradio website, and look at the 6 disc players for sale with the aux input, mine (06 tj ) is the same. Also, give them a call during the week, they were very helpful with me, and answered every question I had. Great customer service.

Just went out to the TJ, turned the key, pushed 'EJT', out came the disk. Go figure. I don't plan on putting in another at this point.

Question. I bought an 03 wrangler with an aftermarket radio. The build sheet says it came with the CD changer and 7 speakers. Was the CD changer separate? Or was it a 6-disc built into the radio?
