What did you do to your TJ today?

base structural part of the hitch mounted. Need to finish the frame tie ins but my scrap pile is covered in snow. sooo... thinking about put the oem bumper back on as a cover. its a minimalist vs a more finished look.

Nice,
You'll need to rekey them to match your other doors and remove the lock rod for the inside lock lever so they can only be locked and unlocked with the key. That helps cut down on theft of them.
There are good posts about how to do that, I did both mods on mine.

When I purchased my Jeep 3 years ago the seats were covered with Smitybilt seat covers that were extremely faded and quite dirty with stains.
In the interim I removed the covers to wash them in an attempt to rid them of stains and cigarette odors.
I found the passenger seat factory material and internal padding to be in good condition, but the drivers seat padding was compressed and starting to decompose with a split in the side vinyl which would require replacing at a later time.
The Smitybilt covers cleaned up, but the fading was so bad the color black appeared to be lavender.
I purchased a set of Bartac Sport seat covers which have performed very well...
Several days ago a friend in the Autobody industry who is restoring a 1977 IH Scout recommended an Upholstery shop that installed new seat pads and covers for the front and rear seats.
I removed the drivers seat from my '01 and dropped the seat off at the Upholstery shop while I am out of town for the holidays.
Once I return and pick up the repaired seat; I will post pictures.
Here are a few pictures of the seat in its present condition.

Looking forward to seeing the end result. Your seat looks exactly like mine. The Bartacts were a massive improvement especially with the addition of the lumbar pillow. But once I saw these, I knew a professional refresh is in my future some time.. @Woodrow nailed it on these...

Was that 2x4 block of wood a 3rd option ? lol

Well that “wood” be a different look! Smaller 2x4 to approximate spacing of the larger tire diameter- if I am lucky the new tire well rest in part on the hitch platform. Larger wood/jack stand to get that hitch up in place for centering and drilling. The challenge of working solo 👊
