So, i recently replaced my radio. My old sony died, i took it out and have been driving around for about a year or so with nothing.
I replace it with another cheap sony. I noticed that my antenna cable is just not long enough to reach, but no worries, i have some extensions in the old radios box.
I use a normal extension…and im getting only like 3 solid fm radio channels.
I replace the normal extension with this weird one i had lying around in a rando box of parts (i never throw anything away) and im at like 100 channels.
This cable looks like a normal antenna extension cable…it plugs into the antenna and then into the back of my radio…BUT it has what appear to me to be some kinda computer chip attached to it under some shrink wrap?
Out of pure curiosity…what is this cable? Its not powered….atleast not externally. It has zero wires coming off of it.
Ill attach a pic of this computer chip looking deal. It just puzzles me…it has to be some kind of signal booster or anti interference kinda thing.
I just cant find anything like it online.
