Car pics too cool not to share

You can buy the cowl on ebay and make it what you want, or make me an offer I can't refuse and get a complete car. My price is really high. ;)

Both suggestions sound reasonable and would provide a great return on investment , ( for the children ) . However I am not the federal government........o_O

What is this return of investment you speak of? I don't think any of my cars had that as a factory option. It must be aftermarket.

Return on investment isn't strictly monetary BlueC , you must factor in diversity , equity , carbon reduction and Gender factors .
Of course you get extreme bonus points if you go into debt to help fund a ex. soviet regional war. Now I'm sure you see how this could make sense !

Well, my convertible was last registered in '72, so I think I have the carbon reduction covered for a few vehicles. I deserve a tax credit. ;)

Now your getting it ! I 'm so proud ! Also be sure to take the Sustainability Rubber Use Reduction Act tax credit when you file this year.

Many, many moons ago (mid-'80s) I met a gentleman in Burien, Washington who had purchased a green '69 Impala Kingswood station wagon. I had stopped at his house because I saw the car sitting in his driveway, and saw the 427 emblems on the front fenders. Turns out he had only recently purchased the car from the original owner, who sold it to him as "just an old car". The price? $600

I've heard stories of how people used to essentially give away big old cars, especially during the gas crunch era.

Did the wagon keep its 427? Honestly, that would be as shocking as the $600 price.

Here's one from the North on BAT in '20. Bid to $27,000 but didn't make reserve. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1969-chevrolet-kingswood-estate-station-wagon-427/

Yes, it did, as far as I know. The car was still at his place for quite a while (a year, or more), and then I moved out of the area. In my discussion with him, he indicated that he knew the rarity of the wagon. It was fairly loaded, though I don't recall if it was an a/c car, or not. I'd like to think it he kept the package together.

I know Hondas aren't everyone's thing, especially you old guys ;), but look at what this '97 Integra Type R just sold for at auction.

$151,200

I think I've been priced out of another car that I want.

I remember walking into a Bank of America branch in Burien, Washington, and they had one of these sitting in the middle of the room. After my initial surprise at seeing a car inside the bank, I then had to deal with the fact that I thought the front end was hideous looking. But, as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. ;)

Maybe you're more of a JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) guy. You could drive on the wrong side with this one. ;)

I just wonder if these high-priced Typer Rs will have any trickle-down effects on my Type imposteR. I'd bet it will only drive up the price of parts.

He must've gotten "hassled by The Man" about running without a hood. It reminds me of the time a friend of mine had a '70s-era Harley chopper, and she kept getting pulled over for not running a front fender. She ended up tying a bandana between the forks, and the next time she got pulled over, the cop said that technically, it qualified as a fender, but that she was still pushing the limits of the definition of one. :sneaky:

Wildman - You do one excellent job with this site but would you please identify make, year, model or whatever explains the vehicles you show pictures of. Some of us need to learn more whenever possible. Thanks for your work.

Déjà vu.... Seems to me someone else asked for something similar before and was answered with something along the lines of... Sometimes there's no info with the pictures but we like them so we share them...

If you're really intent on finding information about a picture try searching the internet for that picture. You may or may not find any...

For example that particular image is from a pintrest post that simply says....

Old Dodge Trucks

60's Dodge Power Wagon ad

From there another image popped up showing this one stating it's a 68 Power Wagon...
