4WD indicator light not working after MML install

Help everyone, so I had a tj but sold it and just picked up an LJR. I had the 4wd light and lockers working great when I bought it. I then put a motor mount lift on because previous owner did a body lift without accounting for the fan shroud. And I also replaced some bulbs for the air controls. Then I went to do some more testing for leaks with the lines for the lockers and the 4wd light doesn’t come on which means no lockers. However the jeep IS going into 4Hi and 4Lo. I don’t think it’s the switch considering it was working 2 days ago.

Some people on the internet have had the same issue and say that a new switch didn’t fix it and that the cause was bad connections.
My question to you all is what could have gotten messed up and what wires am I looking to check on and where are they?

Sounds to me like your transfer case shifter linkage needs adjustment. This is a common issue and it can be quite finicky. Hence why most of us go with the Savvy transfer case shifter.

I had the savvy shifter on my tj and plan to get it again. However it is shifting into 4Hi and 4lo the light just wasn’t coming on.

With all that being said I drove it and didnt Do anything to it and pulled it into 4wd and the indicator Light came on. So it looks to be intermittent, I just don’t know where to look for the problem

Might check the wires where it plugs in- could just be a freaky timing thing- you can jump the plug- if that lights it up it’s the switch-if not might be at the pcm- @Wranglerfix is a huge help

Probably damaged the wires or connector at the tc switch while moving the drive train around. Is it 1" or 1.25" body lift? Do you have a tummy tuck? If so, which one?

I would also after checking all of your wiring and connections, see if the Tcase is shifting all the way in. Just because the lever says it's in 4WD doesn't mean it is IN 4WD or it is but not all the way. I replaces my linkage with a cable, it works well but I have noticed it has started popping out of 4Lo. I need to get it on the lift and adjust it. Who knows, maybe something came loose.

It does have a tummy tuck. Has the Clayton off-road skid plates underneath

And i believe is has a one inch body lift. It’s polyurethane tho so it’s squished some

It’s seems to be fully in 4wd. But time will tell when wheeling. Worst case for the first trip I’ll use a pry bar to fully seat it if it pops out. But I plan do get the savvy cable shift linkage again

Also I don’t think it’s the linkage because the lights and everything started randomly working again

As suggested earlier, I'd suspect a wire somewhere with an intermittent connection. If it's not the connection down on the transfer case, it could be the wiring behind the dash near the locker switch. You mentioned changing bulbs in the HVAC controls and maybe something got tweaked when putting it back together.

Yeah I will definitely be taking a look
