Wildman's TJ is getting a face lift

The ability to maintain ride height without jack stands???

Sorry couldn't help myself...

In all seriousness, it looks like it's coming along nicely.

I can do that right now. I've got the air springs installed on all 4 corners and I can add air to each one individually. Just don't want to have to mess with them currently as I'd have to drain each one when I hook up the air lines.

It's nice to finely see it starting to look like a Jeep.

This is a subject that is debated about as much as greaseable or non-grease U-joints or manual or auto transmission.

Strap or U-bolt yokes. My preference is U-bolt as I've seen too many straps fail and spit out the U-joint.

When I was building the HP44 front axle I couldn't find a U-bolt yoke for it so had to go with the strap style yoke. For a front axle IMO it's not as important as it is for the rear.

Back in 2018 on Memorial Day weekend a club member along with his wife and daughter were almost killed in a accident. He was climbing a steep hill in the Liberty area and just as he was cresting the hill he spit out his driveshaft on his YJ.
Multiple rolls later himself and his wife were trapped in the wreckage. His daughter had been thrown clear on the second roll and only received minor injuries. But both him and his wife were in serious condition.
While some club members worked on stabilizing them 2 other members drove until they could get cell service and called 911. They were both Life Flight from the scene to Harbor Veiw in Seattle.

Whichever means that you use to secure your u-joints with make sure that you periodically check them for proper torque and serviceable condition. I carry a spare set of both with me in my storage box.

Huston we've got a problem....!!

I'm not sure where the disconnect was, most likely in my brain but I ordered the front driveshaft 3" to short. Fuck!!!
So I'll box it back up and already called Tom Wood and they are sending me a shipping label.
So I'll be getting other things done until I receive the shaft back. Not like I don't have enough other things to do.

Interestingly my old front shaft is the correct length. But the tube is too big and hits the 3 link and exhaust which is why I'd gotten the new shaft from TW.

Also already got the shipping label from TW and the kid was going into town so the driveshaft is heading out. Which hopefully means that they'll receive it Monday or Tuesday. So I should have it back NLT Friday maybe.

TW typically has a super fast turn around. I'd bet it'll be back next week.
