Mickey Thompson Tire Comparison

One thing ill say is ive had the mickey thompson baja Legend mtz and they worked better than my ko2 all terrian in rain. I would hydroplane with my ko2 if i wasnt really careful.Yet after installing the baja legend, i was supprised to see an improvement.
Ya I have k02 currently and have loved them everywhere but water. I’ve also hydroplaned a few times so I’m glad that’s better.
Where’s your review of the tires?
I am not well spoken or tech zavvy.

My job requires me to drive for hours when it snows or in ice. I have no complaints with the MTZs. I drove in 34" of unplowed snow for 4 hours and didn't get stuck (for long). It was stressful doing that at 1am with nobody around to help if I did get stuck. Even the tow trucks wouldn't come out in it. I did get a "I survived the blizzard" t-shirt from the company I worked for though.
Consider yourself lucky. I went through 3 or 4 sets of MT tires before I had 4 that would balance out without a ton of weight. What I mean by a ton of weight is 10+ ounces per tire. That was after breaking them down numerous times and match mounting them. I did final end up with 4 tires that took under 5 oz. of weight.
My new unused MT spare has 17 ounces of weight on it.
On a side note, my KM3's took a hell of a lot less weight to balance, 3-5 ounces per tire.
I like the MTZ look more than the Boss, but was going to get the Boss because of the positive reviews.
Big Brand Tire told me today that they couldn't get me the Boss tire. Discount tire can get me five Boss tires from the east coast, but warned me that they've been discontinued by MT. WTF is that all about? I didn't expect that since the Boss is supposed to be a newer offering.
I'm leaning towards the MTZ since they look similar to my STT Pros that I like. The STT Pros are on backorder for Discount tire until May.

I just got a set of MTZ Legend’s. Only a few weeks old so not much to say. I’d seen them on one if @Irun rigs and was impressed. They’re also made in the USA, which was attractive to me. The 35’s only weighed 65.4lb. Very good for a 35. Load D.
They look great man thanks for posting photos up. Good chance I’ll be running them soon.
What BS are your wheels and do your tires rub against the SL? I just got a set of wheels with 3.75” of bs, which is more than the 3.5” I’ve been running.
The new tires will be closer to 12.5” wide compared to my current tires that are 13.1” wide.
The overall distance between tire setups and the SL may be close to a wash.

My wheels are 3.75” BS. I have one washer on the steering stops. It still brushes the SL when articulating and turning off-road.
P.s. You probably know, but if not, MT has a $100 rebate on 4 tires right now. The Legends are included. I think the rebate offer extends through end of April. I purchased through Simple Tire and picked them up at Fed Ex a few days later. Best deal I could find.
