Steering seems stiffer after installing new steering wheel

Afternoon all, spent a couple hours changing my steering wheel out with a replacement from the guy in Poland. Turned out great and fitment was perfect. Leather is awesome - Looks great, pic attached.

Problem - steering seems stiffer or slightly harder to turn now. Also, have some slight ‘ticking’ from the column or clock spring when turning.

Thoughts? Damaged the clock spring?

Of note…seems to be more responsive on the road. Less ‘play’ anyways (could all just be in my head).

Maybe simply installed too tight… back the nut off, remove the wheel and reinstall to factory torque specs.
You may also have a discrepancy in the shape of the hub on old vs new wheels.
I’ve seen photos showing multiple configurations.

Regarding your purchase experience, how was the timeline and the budget?

Well bossman, you’re spot on here. Backed it off and torqued it to 40flbs.

I tightened it too much like a dummy.
