Full corner armor?

The thing is, I currently have rock sliders from Rokmen Off-road. https://www.rokmen.com/mercenary-rock-sliders-202.html

I’m curious if anyone would know if the corner armor from Savvy would work well with my Rokmen rock sliders. I’d hate to have to do any trimming, and I wouldn’t want a huge gap between the 2 either.

I’m also aware that I’d have to drill some holes in the corner armor to fit my factory fender flares. Which I’m fine with.

I had thought of replacing my Rokmen sliders with the Savvy version. But that would be a lot of money, and I AM happy with my rokmen’s.

I’m also open for other ideas.

I run both the Savvy corner armor & rockers. More than likely you will need to trim the leading edge of the corner armor so you can properly position it (unless the rocker is lower then you would up with a gap). I am more than willing to get you any measurements you want before you make a decision.

Because not everyone runs stock flares there are no fender holes. You need to drill like 6 holes on each side for attaching the fender flares & two much larger holes for positioning the plastic studs.

If the rokmen rockers are a different thickness than the Savvy ones then the fender flare won't sit flush. This also applies if the Rokmen sliders don't go W2W.

A nice benefit with the Savvy corner armor is you can run it with or without the rub rails. The corner armor comes setup for either mounting method and the rub rails can be added at anytime if you want them too.

My holes on the tailgate hinges and the tail light mounting holes did not match up very well at all, so I needed to wallow out the holes on the corner armor to fit the stock hardware. No nutsert tool is included anymore but you can make your own for $2.00 at ACE hardware. Use lots of antiseize & use an spring loaded center punch so you don't indent the sheet metal more than you intend to.

Because the tailgate gets spaced out with spacers, you will need some extra washers laying around (or not) to properly shim the tailgate so it opens & closes easily on the striker.

The nutsert tool isn’t really something to call home about. If you have a peer with an astro pneumatic use that, otherwise PM me and I’ll go into detail on what you need to make the tool (a couple washers, nut, bolt, & star washer). Again its super easy, and I got to the point where I could setup the tool and set the nutsert in under an minute.

I really like the Savvy corner armor. It installed ease and with no real headaches.

Oh by the way, get the corner armor backing plate.

Good luck getting any TJ parts from Rokmen unless they have them in stock. I had their front bumper on order for 3 months. Called Jeff a couple times, 1st call said I’d see it in January. Second call in February he said he couldn’t even guess when they would get enough orders to make a run of them. I got refunded and went on my way, someone else on the forum had the same issue with them recently.

I’d call them and see what’s up before placing a order so you don’t have to deal with waiting and getting a refund.

You could always do corner armor that is not the "full" right? This would avoid any concerns with trimming or with things not perfectly lining up or matching. Just an idea if you don't absolutely need the full protection.

Was searching Rokmen and stumbled across this thread, I'm in the market for some WW2WW sliders, didn't know if you were interested in parting with yours... I'm also in Indiana. If not, plan on going with a AtoZ fab set pretty soon I think but thought I'd kick the tires on yours [emoji3].

I think those are great but like the look of the traditional tubing at the expense of function... I see more tight trails than big rocks. AtoZ offered to make me a good deal when I messaged them, just need to make the call and complete the order. They also sell a bare steel winch plate that I've been eyeing, want it to match my rattle can painted bumper.
