The 'outer' shaft normally refers to the short stub shaft that passes through the unit bearing hub, the inner shafts are between the differential and stub shafts. Do you actually mean the complete axle shaft assemblies that include both the inner and outer stub shafts for the front axle? If so I'd go for the Discovery chromoly shaft kit from https://www.revolutiongear.com/

Another vote for Revolution.
Upgraded the stock Rubi axles on the LJ to Revolution about a month ago after many conversations with folks I’ve been wheeling with.

For the time being I'd just go for a stock Spicer replacement stub shaft and install a Spicer 5-760x u-joint since you're trying to stay under $150. Are you absolutely certain the inner shaft ears that hold the u-joint are still good and tight and not stretched or broken?
It will be more than $150 but if you truly off road your Jeep it’s worth the peace of mind. Also, if you break a front axle never ever take the shaft out and just attach your tire to the unit bearing. I know of a guy who died driving home after breaking a front axle. You take the inner out and attach the outer to keep the bearing from separating and your front tire flying off.

At this point I’m uncertain about everything lol.
The outer shaft ears had a very difficult time getting both C-clips in for the same reason as the stub shaft.
I can get one c-clip in but when I press it through the other side I never get enough clearance for the 2nd.
And as I stated there are no needles lying down I checked.
If you’re running an open diff and 33’s or smaller, all you need is a stock shaft. I’d replace the inner and outer, since both usually suffer some damage/distortion when you break a shaft.

Since you are uncertain, It would help us give better advice if you tell us exactly what happened to damage your outer shaft, and what actual damage you see. Depending on what occurred, your inner shaft may be damaged as well.
If that’s the case, your cheapest solution would be a junkyard shaft.
Or, pay shipping on a set of take-outs I can probably round up if needed. Standard caveats apply. I'm not going to quote shipping, I'm not going to get in touch, they do the legwork and agree to pay shipping and I'll go find them.
