I need to warn y'all about all these crazy threads we have !. well 1st thing this morning I see the one on call girls. figured it's early and mind as well start the day off right. so I call the number and a somewhat female sounding voice answers and starts sweet talking me, I'm thinking this voice kinda sounds familiar . Says for $700 will start my day off right ! I say well send me a picture and we'll see . well a few minutes and I get a picture. well I'll be damned I thought I recognized the voice it was @AndyG in drag wig, red lipstick, lugnut ear rings, high heels and wearing a red dress OH MY EYES ! I couldn't hang up the phone and delete that picture fast enough !!!!!!! Y'all be careful calling those numbers, Andy must be running short on money trying to fix his JEEP ......

I'm actually enjoying this. As soon as they register and post I ban them within seconds.

One just tried it again and they posted a new thread. Lasted all of 10 seconds before it was nuked.

Not sure why they've targeted this site en masse all of a sudden.

It's a bot, not humans. It may well be designed to circumvent the specific forum software you're using. Banning them likely won't stop it

And they might be spoofed IP addresses as well. There might be something you can set in the registration settings to help keep them from getting in to post in the first place.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like any of that is working.

I think the bots can actually pass many CAPTCHA tests nowadays, the pricks writing the things are pretty clever, albeit colossal assholes for doing it in the first place.

You might want to check out the support forums for Xenforo, there might be some help there or some plugin for the site that you could install to keep them out.

In the interim, you could take the drastic measure of closing new registrations....not the best solution but it might help until you find a more permanent one.

If memory serves, you're behind Cloudflare, yes? Go and ban all .ru .cn .ua etc. Yea, it won't necessarily stop spoofing, but it will help. Things like this come in "storms" as they're called. I was getting all kinds of bullshit on my web form, when I blocked .ru - it came to a screeching halt immediately. Another one to block is amazonaws - there's all kinds of bullshit bots being run from there. It took me a bit to figure out how to turn that crap off (via Cloudflare), but I got it done a couple of weeks ago (the .ru etc block has been in place for about 3 years now). I was getting HAMMERED by amazonaws bots!
