So I took off my 5.5" lift that I think was a BDS and I dropped my TJ to a OME 2". I believe the front and rear track bars are much longer than stock, so I am thinking I need to get the Mopar stock ones back on there. I just want to confirm that I am on the right track.

Thanks for help on this. Never dropped down before, always raised up. lol Is a little odd.

I would try the current ones and see if they will work. At that height, the rear will likely be off a very small amount to none; the front will probably be less than 1" off. Both of which are usable with stock components.

I needed an adjustable trackbar with my 2” OME. But it’s one of those issues where TJ’s differ. I agree with the above, you should be able to shorten the adjustable trackbar’s very near to stock, so hopefully they will work. Otherwise, you can probably find them very cheap on craigslist.

Thanks for all the replies. Any idea of the length of the stock track bars, to get an understanding of how much adjustment is required? Thanks again.

I have a rear one sitting out in the shed - it is 32 1/2" center to center on the bolt holes. The best measurement I can get on the front is 31 1/4" from the center of the axle bolt to the middle of the frame mount where the zerk fitting is.

Your bump stops likely need to be shortened with the lower lift and shorter shocks. If the track bars can go short enough to work at the new ride height, double check the front bar at full bump to make sure it clears the diff cover. Otherwise, you'll need to look at stock, Metalcloak or JKS.

Thanks for your reply. I am a week away from dealing with this job as the TJ is in the paint shop. I just can't wait to enjoy this ride! All the information on here helps speed the process and thanks for that!

Are you going to have drive shaft issues? I have a 5 inch lift and want to go down to a 2.5. I’m concerned my rear drive shaft is too long. I have a Rubicon.

Oddly, I don't think so. I am not sure why there is no issue. I drove it with the OME lift and no issues, but it wasn't a real shakedown run. I will elaborate when I get more information. My mechanic and bodyshop are right down the road from each other, so I didn't really "drive" the jeep yet.
