Window Shopping for Ramp Trucks or Roll Backs

As much as people like to give me shit for buying a motorhome once you are spending more than a 3-4 days a month in a motel they start making sense. You've got to shop & know what you're getting into. If I was still only going to use it for short stays a truck camper is more practical.
Some of these rigs are way beyond my pay grade.

I may end up with a motor home eventually, but not until I have more time to use it. Two or three trips a year don’t pencil out as good investment.

No kidding! I'd love a 4wheel camper for my 1/2 ton but have no business getting one.

Agreed. AS I said unless you're staying in a motel more than 3-4 days a month there isn't a reason to even consider it. When I bought my first camper I was using it 1 weekend per month and then almost every other weekend. So I was camping a lot and it made sense to upgrade to a larger unit.
A long came a wife who had to have a motorhome but we only used it maybe 6 weeks a year.. It was an expensive lawn ornament .

With my goal of part time living on the road I could see the point of buying a motorhome again. Hope I finally get to start using it soon.

Start with something small and manageable. My first camper was a shortbed S&S model but for just me and my daughter it was great. Had a toilet & a shower if needed. Used it once a month 8 months out of the year the first 2 years I owned it. And that grew up to twice a month. It went to Moab one year too.

The lite 1/2 ton campers are nice. Never buy new... Always find one you like that is used.

I don’t know much about these things, but my buddy Mark showed up in Parker AZ with his new Motor toter and custom built trailer complete with custom built rock crawler in the back

You can join the Toter crowd.. It's only $229K... My house cost less than that..

They are damn nice inside.....
I can spend a lot of time in hotels for a 1/4 million dollars and I don't have figure out where to store it.

Yep, Like I said they are out of my price range 90% of the time. And the ones I might afford are worn out...

2005 international blue bird school bus that's been halfway converted to a crawler hauler/ toy hauler. I very recently traded for it and after some measurements and planning it's not going to work for our intentions so here we are it runs and drives great it has the C7 cat and auto Allison trans. 116k miles Hydro brakes (so no need for a CDL to drive) tagged and titled as a recreational vehicle. It does need some fab and wiring work but is great bones for an awesome hauler and runs and drives as factory. $4500 or possible trade for things of equal value just let me know what you got.

Rough aint bad. Seems enough room to throw down a mattress to sleep on.

We use this F350 flat bed dually. The nice thing about it is just how compact it is, which is great for driving right up to trails. We store a set of aluminum ramps underneath the bed, so loading/unloading is a quick process.

That 7.3 Powerstroke is awesome too 🤌
