Texas Texas Jeepers!

Unfortunately I’m not going to be able make it to the adventure at wolf caves. Just about everything I own right now needs a little work. I have a couple too many hobbies and not enough time or money for all of them at once. Hahaha

If you could use some help getting things I order, let me know

Much appreciated JMT. It will be at least a couple of months before I can make an event. As much as I love my tj, I have a couple of dirt bikes that I have been neglecting.

Should I be concerned with these rivet style flares getting ripped apart on a trail run? I got them 1 week after I bought the Jeep, (impulse buy)

It’s hard to say, you have 2” of suspension lift and possibly a small body lift. The only way to know for sure is to cycle your suspension. But honestly, if you’re not bumpstopped correctly now, you’ll hit the fender before the flare.

Ok well that went right over my head...lol
I sort of understand I've just not done the above in real life. :-/ I'm more of an engine dood, but I'm learning

Then we’ll get along perfect. I can do the suspension stuff, you can do the engine stuff!

What I mean is this, when you lift your Jeep, you usually add some bumpstops on the lower perch. This is to keep some of your other components from either causing interference (e.g. your trackbar hitting your differential) or bottoming out (e.g. your shocks) or your tires hitting the fender. You are concerned about your tires hitting your flares. Well, they will hit the metal on the outside edge of your fender first, if that is your limiting factor. But if your bumpstopped correctly, then that will never hit. Take a picture of one of your front springs and one of one of your rear springs so I can see.

Ok, as far as suspension goes, you’ve got a 2” spacer, but you already knew that! Your bumpstops are extended in the cup on the column. Looks like a lot of bumpstop, too much. Sometime need to cycle the suspension to see how much you need and then move it to the lower perch. Also need to measure your coil spring plus spacer front and rear to determine true lift. Stock front is 12” and rear is 8”. Anything over that is your true lift.

What are you thinking as far as your long term goals with this Jeep?

Thank you for your input, I've been learning a lot from your build thread.
Goals are to DD it for another year or two as is...for now keeping it mostly stock while looking for a 2nd jeep (4.0)
Oh, also, you do not have a BL. Those are the rubber body mounts. The BL is a puck that sits on top of the body mounts.

I checked my 21 y.o. body bolts, they seem to be fine. @JMT WHAT 1" lift do you recommend, Currie? At around $200?
I assume your talking about body lift. You can’t go wrong with Savvy 1.25”. One advantage over most others is the aluminum spacers use the stock rubber body mounts. $134.95

The Currie 1” is just as good. Also uses the stock rubber body mounts. Price is $229.
