Assuming this is 6061t6 and knowing what we know about the material and it's characteristics, does anyone care to pick apart Savvy's new low profile bumper?
Or are we going to be blindly optimistic fanboys?
I think minimum bend radius for 6061t6 is 2-2.5 x material thickness.
We could start picking at that
It would serve people well to know what they are changing before they change it.
thats my biggest question, looks just like the swag bumper without a receiver hitch
3 times the thickness for 3/16". Or are you building this out of 1/8" and thinner?

Tough to tell what's going on here, but the material looks like it's pretty thin, and the face appears to have a radiused edge that is being welded to the bottom plate? My eyeball isn't very calibrated, does that appear to be 3/16"?

Now we know what that pic is. This is even better and dumber. The entire bumper is welded! Which means every corner that is welded has lost the heat treat. Which means there is no reason to build this thing out of aluminum.
Quit being so negative!
What you see is what we have to look forward to if the TJ line is getting a refresh as Gerald has been promising recently.
Though maybe this Heritage TJ line he has mentioned will retain Blaine's original designs.
Doesn’t mean the final one will be all welded. This appears to be for mockup.
Perhaps. But then you have to noodle your way through the minimum bend radii and how to make that work on a bumper like this.
I didn’t mean to imply they were intelligent

Looks like they attached it with carriage bolts so the thickness must be about the depth of the square section of the bolt.
One thing is for sure, I know Blaine didn't design it.
Dave Stover said it was an improvement, and he’s a design engineer, so you guys need to cool it.
