My review of the Vision X Vortex 7" LED headlights & Vision X 4.7" CG2 Light Cannon LED Fog Lights

I usually always solder, but I got some really nice wire taps for doing the halo lights. They are the kind where you can disconnect them if need be. Basically the same as these ones: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077YB123S/?tag=wranglerorg-20

Mine are just a little nicer in the sense that they look like they're a bit higher quality.

But other than this situation, I always solder and heat shrink. I just wanted to be able to remove them with ease incase I needed to take the headlights out.

Gotcha my high low harnesses just came in so I want to get these guys in! I think this approach shouldn’t be too bad, if it’s not a pain and you can take a picture of your setup that would help a ton though.

It's as simple as this:

Thanks! Sorry for the 1000 questions, just want to make sure I get it right.

So I think this is the process I'd need to take:
1 Take the white extra wire coming off my light with a male end
2. Connect a female connector with new wire to it for length (electric tape the connector or heat shrink?)
3. T-Tap into the middle of those amber wires.
4. Repeat on the other side with the other amber

Yep, that's it.

It's quite possibly the simplest thing you'll ever do. You're just tapping the wire for the halo lights into the parking light wire on the front turn signals. That way when you turn on the parking lights, the halos will come on.

Do you drive with the parking light and halos on all the time?

Edit: I know you don’t HAVE to, just wondering if you do. :)

Here's the headlights in the daytime, about 3:00 PM PST. Just wanted to give you guys an idea of what they look like in daylight.

Hello Chris,

I run these headlights too and just love them as they have amazing high beams and a very wide low beam spread. I'm not a fan of unnecessary lighting, especially stuff that is not street legal, so I don't run anything other than great headlights and great fog lights. My wife likes the Halo look, but I don't need the halo look personally, so I hooked my halos to a separate switch on my drivers side A pillar switch pod. When my wife is driving she has to turn them on! LOL The fact that the halo is on a separate power lead is also a big plus to me as it gives the buyer so many options on how they would want to use (or not) the halo feature. Oh....and as far as I know they are still sold with the limited lifetime warranty too.

These lights can be found at prices much, much lower than MSRP these days I got a great price with the HI/LO modules nearly a year ago and have really enjoyed the extra light these provide. The chrome version was easier to get a low price on and luckily for me chrome was what I wanted....I wanted it to look as stock as it could and the black chrome is definitely not a stock look.

I have a question for you.....What front bumper assembly do you have going on with your TJ Rubi? Is that a stock bumper with some add on winch plate?

Thanks so much!

Yes, these truly are amazing headlights. Best ones I've found yet, and they look good too, almost like they'd be a factory headlight on newer model Wranglers. I also think the chrome looks better personally, it makes them almost look like stock headlights from a distance.

That front bumper is the ultra rare "Mopar Rock Crawler" bumper. It was a factory accessory produced by AEV and sold as a factory Jeep accessory back when these things were brand new on the showroom floor. They don't make them anymore, and if you find a used one, you'll pay a pretty penny!

I found a NOS (new old stock) one in the warehouse and it ended up costing me around $680 if I remember correctly. I also have the matching rear bumper which I haven't installed yet.

For anyone interested, Rockridge 4WD is having a Sale on the pair of the these lights with an additional 10% off with coupon code "Rock10" for a shipped total of $450 (free shipping to lower 48).

Before buying Vision X lights from an online Seller, I would call Vision X to verify who their authorized resellers are. If you buy from an unauthorized reseller your warranty is voided. Damn Chinese knock-offs...of course Amazon is on there, biggest violater out there.

The following dealers, retailers and websites have been placed on the Do Not Sell List and are unauthorized. Distributors are instructed not to sell to them, or they will also be placed on the Do Not Sell List. And consumers are advised not to purchase from them because the products as the dealer is not authorized so warranties are not valid when purchased through these dealers.

I know what the cost is on these headlights, and I can tell you that Rockridge is making hardly anything off a set, that's for sure.

I have these headlights but the high and low beams don't come on together. I know I got the 4 hi adapter when I bought the headlights. I was just wondering if the 4 hi adapter has a switch on it so the high and low beams come on together or maybe the person who installed them didn't use that adapter? Can someone help me out?

Hello,

No there is no switch on the four way adapter, it is plug it in and itworks. Perhaps the installer possibly left them out accidentally.

Good luck! They are great headlights, I really enjoy mine.

Sounds like the installed forgot to put the adapters in. Mine work just fine with the adapters and the low beams stay on with the high beams.
