I like the tape guards to keep the black strip from below the doors when closed (I know there are versions that stay inside the door and I'm eyeing them). I've eyed 3M clear tape options but haven't pulled the trigger.
Long statement to say — I feel @Cooper Smith in knowing it needs attention and haven't picked a solution.
