Good to know. I was looking into that top in the twill cloth. Really expensive but the manufacturer said that was the thicker fabric choice.. I didnt have any problems like that with my sprint top. It was great structurally for a year and a half even though it was cheap until a raccoon ate through the fabric and ate the foam out of the tailgate bar too. I’m not really worried about insulating from road or wind noise or anything like that. Just wondering if there’s a cloth choice that might be harder for an animal to tear apart. I’d hate to buy a new top and have it come right back and do it again since I can’t figure out why it did it in the first place. Came back two nights in a row. Also wondering if all the choices could be torn apart just as easily...
The twill fabric is considerably thicker and more durable in appearance than the sailcloth. I've always gone with the sailcloth, as Jerry said, but I have been eyeing a Twill soft top..The tops on the Jeeps I've seen with the twill look so much more substantial. Hit up @Starrs, I believe he got a twill replacement top.
It’s a damn nice soft top, but I will admit it’s hard to shell out a grand for a soft top. Sail cloth would be a nice option to go with also. I got mine on amazon prime for 879 I think it was so I got a little discount on mine. It’s not flap proof at 50+ mph on the interstate but it is a hell of a lot more quieter than the OEM Mopar top I had. I fully endorse it just based on aesthetics alone, but the sound barrier the thicker fabric provides is an added bonus. Just really boils down to how much are you willing to spend on a soft top. Attached is a pic of my OEM top. The color difference in the fabrics sold me also.
Do you think you could get a photo at the same angle and similar sun angle as the original top photo? For comparison...
I can’t guarantee the sun angle will be the same, but I’ll try and get some pics tomorrow.

No, I know how to do that including using Photoshop on a regular basis. Not to mention you lose detail and resolution when you stretch a photo to enlarge and crop it. But more importantly, it's just better to position the camera close enough to the subject so it is properly exposed so you can see detail and texture instead of just a black outline. Non-photographers invariably stand too far back from what they're photographing. There's nothing wrong with asking someone to stand closer or even use a flash when taking photos for use in figuring out a question or issue.
The less expensive Sailcloth is more appropriate for trail use, it's not as easily damaged as the more luxurious/expensive twill is.
