Not looking to bring out the over protective mother in anyone, yes - we all know it should not be done!

Has anyone had their (non-boosted, non-V8 swapped) TJ up to 100MPH? This is the first vehicle that I have ever owned that I have not driven to at least 100MPH. I may have had it up to 90 once, on accident... very breifly.

My tires are not rated for anything that high, so I wouldn't attempt it

Lol...nope! 35-40 on an FSR is hauling ass. I think I was up to about 80 on I-5 out by Centralia once. The four angry squirrels were happy, the TJ was happy, and I about choked when I realized it. (Note: the JKU will, and has, done it across South Dakota. No problemo.)

Back before I realized that I didn't have the correct speedometer gear, I had mine up around 85 on the speedo, which would have been closer to 96 actual speed. It did make a certain high-pitched grinding noise when it got over 90, so I stayed away from that. Other than that, I surprisingly didn't feel uncomfortable going that fast.

That's pretty fast in a TJ! I may have had mine up to ~35 a couple of times on FSRs, there's just so many land mine type potholes on the roads I take to risk breaking something! I should probably relax a LITTLE now that I have beefed up my front and rear axle shafts. I think the Dana 44's can handle some little bumps in the road #maybe?

I've been accused of being a "fast mover" on occasion...there's only certain sections of a few mainlines that I'll travel that fast on and then only certain days of the week. And only when I'm alone in the Jeep. Crank the music up and blow over to the beach to burn off a little nervous energy. The CD player ends up skipping, but the world just isn't a perfect place, ya' know? Professional driver, closed course, kids don't try this at home, yada, yada. I don't plan on living forever, anyway.

OVER PROTECTIVE MOTHER HERE....;) I see some of ya'll here sound like ya'll are ready to go on to glory and meet Elvis, Michael Jackson, and Prince....you see where I'm going here.....:SimpHomer: nah, but seriously the highest that I have gotten up to is 70 and that's pushing it. I'm too scared to go anything over that.

If I die in bed, the Valkyries won't carry me to Valhalla. I'd be totally bummed.

I cruise at 70+ quite easily but I can't say I've passed the hundred mph mark. I've hit about 95 before I thought of the fact my girlfriend would chase me to the pearly gates to kick my ass if I kicked off that way. The speed itself has never scared me

I thought the TJ has a speed limiter set somewhere in the 90's mph.

I have gotten mine into the low-90's on a downhill in Nebraska. That was stock 4.10 gears on 33s. Speed was gps verified.
