42RLE makes noises when moving through gears

Ready. Today it didn't want to make the sound in D. To add, there are occasions in which it doesn't do it when going from first to second, for example it doesn't do it if I drive abruptly and accelerate hard. I also made a video driving it and it makes the noise but it can't be distinguished well, due to a vibration that my half doors make. But the sound is exactly the same as what it makes in that video on the R

I definitely heard something when you went in to R from P....honestly it sounded like a servo motor was activating. I don't have any good ideas as to what that noise could be.

I’m pretty sure it’s just the nature of the 42RLE as mine has done the exact same thing when it was used and rebuilt. I had done pretty extensive reading it back then and it seems pretty common, so I think you’re ok.

My current 42RLE does this as did the original. I’ve never been told it’s a bad thing.

I notice it more when doing a quick relearn.

When you are on the road and change from first to second, does it also sound something similar?

I think I'll just stop worrying so much about this transmission thing, it just is what it is. I think to take care of it the only thing I can do is trust my trans cooler and service it regularly.
