Well now, and this is just a guess going off what I have read here: He has to keep his windshield clean so others can see all his ducks.
I wouldn’t even have any if it weren’t for sooooome people on here ....
They have the option of not doing that
Thought that was SOP![]()
I feel sorry for any cops that have to walk up on a tinted window vehicle.
I couldn't imagine the anxiety and stress of not knowing what's inside.
That's why Va has laws about how dark the side windows can be and a definite no on windshield tinting.
Do the cop cars follow the same laws? I know here majority of the cops here have almost painted windows they are so dark. The last time I was pulled over for a tint issue on my side windows, I fought the ticket in court. It got dropped because I had a picture of the officers car and requested a tint percentage on his car to the judge. The judge basically called the cop a hipocrite and tossed the ticket. The court fee was even waived. That's why Va has laws about how dark the side windows can be and a definite no on windshield tinting.

LEO’s have an exemption here.
So the rules for the people aren't good enough for the rules of the enforcers. IMO, that isn't right.LEO’s have an exemption here.

That’s why I don’t feel bad about having a prescription
There are zero laws that says you can't have emergency lights, you just can't operate them on the road. Tint laws are not for officer safety, they are for obvious visibility issues with darker tint. The laws against tinting are for their safety.
Why would they have to abide by it.
No different than them having emergency lights and not you.![]()
Your eye doctor gives you one. Certain eye conditions are effected by the sun. Tint or very dark sunglasses can overcome these issues. Hell, one side effect of Lasik is sun light and reflections and the military will still let you fly after having Lasik. How does one get a prescription for something that's illegal?
Seems to me if you can't drive without it (and you can't have it), then you can't drive.
