Savvy Rock Sliders and Rear Fenders

Do either of you happen to have pics of the trimmed flares and how they mount after they're cut? I'm curious how you keep (or combat the loss of) the lower mount hole for the flare once they're trimmed.

Not me

Well I was sort of set on trimming the fenders and now I'm not so sure. If I trim the fenders, the bottom most mount for the flare is gone. Not totally sure I'm a fan of that. If I was to get the Savvy corner armor, would painting it green be the best option? I know I could get it powder coated black, but I think that might look off. Has anyone painted their corner armor body color? How has it turned out?

Wondering what route you went. I'm in the same situation where I'm not sure how to cut the flare without losing the bottom mount.

there really isn't a way to cut it and keep the bottom mount. You would have to re-attach the plastic offset from the corner the thickness of your corner armor. I don't know what material the flares are made from (specific type of plastic) so I can't recommend any adhesives.

Has anyone made a temporary spacer behind an aluminum flare, mimicking the 3/16 of corner armor before they purchased the corner armor?
Basically I have full length rockers and will be getting the genright rear flares and want to run them without hacking up the flare or slider since I know I want to get corner armor in the future. I don’t know how soon I would be able to get corner armor so my options are make a spacer or run the stock rear flares since they’re trimmed already.

Sounds like a lot of work to make the spacer. If you run the stock flares it might be more motivation to save for the corner armor.

Ya realistically I want the entire flux catalog including his tailgate and flak that he’s going to do. Besides the bumper I already have but would assuming buying it all together would save on shipping but man close to 2k worth of aluminum is hard to chuck out all at once is all but I think it’s the best way to go especially when trying to have all the armor fit together.

Get corners first, the GRs cost nearly the same as their flares.

It’s an expanding catalog too! Also very nice. I know the itch to get things installed.

I’m about to install these on my LJ without corner armor. I had the same concerns but based on some research I’m just going to install it and live with the small gap. I’ve seen a few rigs where this was done with the savvy rockers and you can’t even tell it’s there.

Send some close ups I’d love to see how it sits.
