I can only keep 1 of these cars

How many do we need if we're not retired? 🤔

well, a person can only drive one car at a time, so if we take it down to truly "need", then I suppose every household needs at most 1 car per driver. Some less...my neighbor only has one vehicle. He's a 100% work from home software dev, wife is a part time flight attendant that only works a few days a month. A lot of retirees could probably get by with one vehicle depending on how independent their social lives are.

Sell the 4Runner AND the F-150, keep the Jeep. Buy a Gen 1,2 or 2.5 Tundra with the funds from selling the 4R and F-150. You'll have a very reliable truck and have the fun Jeep. I have a 2016 Tundra Crew Max 4WD and 03 Rubicon... couldn't imagine ever selling either of them.

Let’s see. Currently there’s the JLU that the wife drives daily, the ‘06 crv for putting miles on and recently my daughters winter rig, the ‘91 F250 for truck stuff( towing Jeeps and firewood mostly), the ‘04 LJ which is my toy and of course the ‘95 YJ which is actually my daughters rig. I won’t count my sons ‘06 TJR and his ‘79 F100 since they are on his payroll and I also won’t count motorcycles because one can never have enough of them 😉

A friend of mine just came to this same conclusion and got rid of his toys. Now he's down to two daily vehicles and 1 rotating toy and says that's the way to go, but he's cheating as he gave some of those toys to his kids, so he still has access to them. He thinks I don't see that. :sneaky: Either way, he did shed some excess and is no longer messing with a dozen or so vehicles, which is a juggling act.

Yea something always has a dead or dying battery because I drive so little to begin with. And on weekends I sometimes ride my motorcycle for fun.

For anyone juggling multiple vehicles that sit, I found the best thing for me was to get a whiteboard mounted on the wall where I see it and I keep track of the last date the vehicle was started/charged or driven. I try to keep it at a 4-6 week maximum no start, and I might go to 3 months no drive, depending on life.

Ummmm…. This is a forum dedicated to TJ’s…I’m pretty sure the answer from respondents is going to be overwhelming for keeping the TJ.

The whole thread is a troll!

He wants the jeep, his wife wants the 4 runner.

He came on here so he can tell his wife the overwhelming majority said to keep the jeep.

He just needs to break the bad news to her.

I only have 4, and its almost too much. Between the wife and I's dailies, the Jeep, and my motorhome, keeping up on everything is challenging. I like your whiteboard idea...

Including our two daily drivers, I have 5-6 tagged vehicles to keep up with. Writing it down is the only way I can keep up with what's been done. I also date parts that I replace, like hoses or filters. I keep an excel sheet of major repairs/replacements, but I really need to start keeping a running log of what I do for each vehicle.

To add a bit of flavor to the pot, we have a LJ Rubicon and 4-door JK. We recently traded in our 2012 JK for a 2015 Lexus GX460. We thought the JK was trying to do double duty by being a comfortable car and a mild offroader and it created too many compromises. So now we have a LJ Rubicon for offroad purposes and a comfortable car for commuting and long hauling.

Don't sell the TJ, it is the most dedicated offroad vehicle in your fleet.
