Are my shocks bad or is this normal?

I went on this trail yesterday up to these hot springs that I've gone up many times with no issues. It's a little rocky, and I am bone stock with the stock tire size and no lift. Usually I have just enough ground clearance to get over the rocks without it hitting the skids. Yesterday though, I had three other big guys with me, so I'm guessing another 650 or so pounds of extra weight vs just myself and another passenger. I scrapped and hit the skids so much more, and eventually realized I had to choose different lines to avoid tearing things up. So I think I lost a bit of ground clearance with the extra weight.

Is this normal? Or are my shocks possibly bad/ going bad? I replaced all four about 60,000 miles ago with some Rancho RS5000X. Still drives okay, I tried the bounce test and it doesn't bounce more than once. But I don't know if the extra weight causing me to lose some ground clearance is normal.

BTW side question, how bad is hitting the skids? I felt so horrible yesterday because I hit them quite a few times, not super hard, but still made me cringe. I didn't see any damage when I checked the underside.

Shock absorbers don't hold your Jeep up, they absorb shocks.

Springs hold your Jeep up, and weight pushes it down. You'll need to get some lighter friends, or put a spring lift (new longer springs) on the Jeep. :D

Hitting the skids usually doesn't hurt much, unless you bang them hard. But if you're hitting the skids, you're probably hitting other stuff too. Even a fairly gentle bump on certain parts under there could do some real damage.

Well I guess it is what it is then if everything's functioning as it should. I'll just keep the weight thing in mind next time I go on any trail because it was something I never stopped to consider for whatever reason.
