Auxiliary fuel anyone?

Not to get too far off topic, but I like that tire carrier, I am planning on DIY for both of my bumpers, and I may copy that design.

Is there any kind of auxiliary fuel cell that can be mounted under the vehicle in addition to the stock tank? Perhaps on the left side between the T-case and the rear axle. All I have seen are fuel cells that just replace the stock tank.

Note that those do come with a gas tank skid which usually run $3-350 by themselves.

Fixed it for you and adding a steel skid of the size and magnitude that they do is pretty silly.

The skid is 3/16" on the bottom of a 1/8" thick tank. They should either add a layer of 3/16" aluminum to the bottom or make the skid from 1/8" with thicker portions only where the strength is needed. It just too much weight to an already larger capacity tank which equals more weight. If you have ever installed one, it's astounding how much they weigh.

I installed mine and yes it's heavy. I dropped off a ledge recently and the fuel tank skid hit pretty hard. I was please with it's durability and the extra fuel capacity is awesome. Thanks for replying.
