Help identifying these wires and this connector

Good afternoon guys and girls.

2000 TJ Wrangler auto 4.0L with cruise. Looking to try to ID these wires and connector that are under my dash. Need to fix them as the last owner has butchered the wiring. I'm trying to get my cruise working and chasing down gremlins. I've made good progress but need to get this fixed.

I plan on re-soldering the yellow wire back together. Same as the 3 wires as they look identical. I have no idea why they were cut. But I need help figuring out what they do and where they go before I move forward. I've been teaching myself about schematics. Just need a place to start.

So I had a hunch and checked your year's wiring diagram... that 6 pin connector is for a SKIM module that you probably don't have. Do you have an original key? And is it gray or black? Page 693 for your reference. I'll link your manual for you too

There is a copy of the Factory Service Manual for your year TJ in a PDF that can be downloaded for the Wrangler TJ Resources.
Check the electrical sections 8W to assist you in troubleshooting your wiring problem.

Almost looks like the botched anti theft solution the previous owner did to my 2001.

So I had a hunch and checked your year's wiring diagram... that 6 pin connector is for a SKIM module that you probably don't have. Do you have an original key? And is it gray or black? Page 693 for your reference. I'll link your manual for you too

Reading electrical wiring diagrams isn't my strong point. I can figure it out eventually. Where would the loom bundle be for the big one under the dash? I have no idea what those 3 wires do or what the yellow one does. Is there a simple way to see in the wiring diagram?

If I'm reading the diagram correctly the big yellow wire is going to the key cylinder for start. 8W-10-13

The 3 individual wires (pink red and yellow) are hooked into the dark blue wire (Pink and yellow) and the red wire is hooked into the red wire. These aren't factory connections - or at least they appear amateurish. They appear to be getting their power from those 2 wires. Any idea what they power?

Hard to determine what the previous owner did looking at those pictures.
You are going to need to trace those wires as best you can to see what the previous owner was attempting so can determine what the next step will be.
The big yellow wire you are referencing (1st, 3rd and 4th picture) that has the yellow crimp connector appears to be a 12 ga wire.
Looking at the 8W10-13 the only yellow wire connecting to the ignition switch is 14 ga.

I have no idea what they were doing. Yellow wire is the only one in that harness, my only issue is the cruise not working and some speaker issues.

Check the Factory Service Manual Speed Control System section 8H-1 to assist you in troubleshooting the CC problems.
