gas tank skid plate unit

Hello fellow members,
Can anyone tell me whether I can replace the gas tank skid plate without dropping the tank itself ? There is a good amount of corrosion present and I really don't want to go thru the trouble of dropping the tank, If the above is not possible, I ll just remove as much corrosion as possible and cover it with a fiberglass repair. Thanks for any replies.

No. The tank is strapped inside the skid. Making sure the tank is empty, or close to, will make the job much easier.
