What are these electrical connectors for?

Just purchased a 2003 TJ (2.4L, manual trans). It's been sitting for at least a couple of years and the guy I bought it off of had bought it off someone else simply for the hard top that was on it. It certainly has some wiring gremlins that I'm going to have to work out. Before I dig too deep with the trickier stuff, I thought I would check on a couple on here to see if I can get some answers more easily.

This first plug is on the driver's side fender. It looks like it's coming out of a wiring loom that also has some brake-associated wiring. Is this plug for the optional anti-lock components that were only in some models? Or am I possibly missing something that it should go to?

The second plug I expect likely goes to something under the intake manifold. I haven't pulled everything apart yet to try to track it down so this is just partly laziness on my part asking here. But if somebody knows off the top of their head that will help me out. One of the previous owners definitely did some sketchy things to some of the wiring and I know I have multiple repairs to make.

First connector looks like it could go to the cruise control servo, second connector looks like it is for the under hood light.

Maybe different from 03 to 05, but that second connector looks like IAT to me

Cruise servo definitely makes sense. Don't think this model ever had cruise control.

Definitely looks similar but I've already got something plugged in at that location, so I don't think that's it. From the way it comes off the harness bundle it seems like it should be going to the driver's side of the engine (but it can't be far because it's a pretty short section of wiring).

Good deal. I don't have a hood light, either, so one more connector I don't have to go crazy trying to track down in vain!

Maybe all these open connectors are part of the problem. When this happens maybe the return power and maybe even grounds are broken supply lines. Maybe what you need to do is look at the original configuration by looking at the original components according to the Vin options and see if all those components are in place and working properly. Some Previous owner may have hacked a system and destroyed electrical supply lines. Just a suggestion.

Not of any concern whatsoever in connection with the underhood light or cruise control.

What I am saying is that since you are having electrical issues, I would go through the list and see if everything on that list that maybe electrically connected is working properly, like fog lights, AC, etc. Sometimes PO's rip out or hack components and it can cause electrical issues. Burnt wire harnesses can also be a sign. Electrical is not a simple issue.

I haven't even begun to get into things. Bought it with no battery. Starter was out. Climbed underneath and realized the end of the wire from the key to the starter was missing the spade connector. Not a big deal. Couldn't find the hot wire coming off the battery. After looking some more realized that wire is no longer even there. PO did some funky stuff with the power wires near between the battery and fuse box, splicing in a very undersized power wire. Have ordered all-new battery wires to replace that entire group (hot, ground, wiring from alternator and to starter). In poking around noticed the two unattached connectors that prompted this thread. PO also removed every single speaker (main and from pods) and cut or ripped out speaker wiring. Radio is gone - some broken wires in there as well. Pod lights gone and more screwed up wiring. Once I am able to properly hook up the battery I'll be able to start figuring out at least some of what is problematic, but I'm not there yet. Really hoping most issues (besides the battery wiring and starter wire) are mostly in the radio/speaker wiring and not a bunch of issues with engine wiring.
