Wildman's TJ is getting a face lift

Well no working on the Jeep for the next few days... I've got a water leak again....

They've been doing construction on a new house next to me and they'd had the water meter next to mine dug up and filled it in around 10 July or maybe a bit sooner. But then now I've got a leak, and I contacted the homeowner, but he doesn't feel it's due to the construction. So I've got to go out and dig it all up and see if I can figure out WTF is happening. I HATE water leaks...

UGH..... shit never stops. It turns out it wasn't anything to do with the neighbors construction.

I'd used the outside faucet earlier this week to rinse the Jeep off with and the screws holding it to the house had broken. My guess is the line finally broke.

Well the water had been leaching down the water line coming into the house.

I'm going to have to go under there tomorrow 😩

Trying to decide if I want to wear some coveralls or rain gear when I crawl under there in the morning. Either way I'm going to get wet & dirty. I'm hoping there might be a shutoff valve to the outside faucets. If not then find the break and cut the PVC pipe and take a piece into town with me to get the parts I need to fix it.
And then once it's repaired fix the faucet too. I'd replaced the screws twice already when they broke but I need to again. It was one of those things I kept saying I needed to attend to but just never did. It SUCKS

What's wrong with your shitter pipe? I've had that pleasure before too.

Probably coveralls... Gonna be muddy. PO of my house installed a hose bib that was too long to use the screws and left it loose. I hit the hole with expanding foam and its super solid now. So there's an option 🤣

Was clogged, paid to snake, needs to have clean outs installed between house and septic tank, and then be jetted so it doesn't clog again. Quoted 6800$ for that...so I dug a hole, bought a pressure washer/jetter/50' endoscope, and am doing it myself lol.

Hadn't thought about expanding foam but that's a good idea.

There was standing water so not just muddy... Either way yes I'm going to be a mess when I crawl back out.

Damn...

$6800 seems like a lot.

Freeze damage? I always have coveralls for underhouse work. Dirt down your pants makes it 1000% worse

No I think just being 19.5 years old and finally just broke. But I'm no plumber so who knows.

My coveralls have been drying on the hood of the motorhome while I ran into town.

I have never seen PVC used for in home water lines. It's for sprinkling systems and exterior water.

It's what is used all through my house. Used to be what the main water line coming from the meter was too but I'd replaced that with PEX about 4 years ago.

Well as that song goes..... "If It Weren't For Bad Luck I'd Have No Luck At All"

I just can't catch a freaking break.... Or as I'd said before I must have really pissed someone off... Or Pissed in their Wheaties.... Or something....

I get the leak under the house fixed... Waited 90 minutes to make sure that the glue had dried... Turned the valve at the water meter and YAHOO... No LEAK....

So went to try to turn the vale open fully, and I don't have a water shutoff valve wrench so was using channel locks and the water meter moved slightly BOOM something gave way at the base or main line and I've got another leak. And this one is BAD..... Really BAD. And the water meter is 3' or so underground so digging it up is gunna be a PITA... I've got to call and get the Locate Service done so I know where my power lines are since I know that they are close to my water lines.

FUCK ME...... No WATER SUCKS...

Edit: The one caveat to this happening.... If it broke from a slight jiggle that means it was going to break at some point and if it'd happened during the winter it'd be a LOT worse trying to get it fixed.

Call a plumber He won't get upset.

Who said anything about being upset????

He'll just charge you 500$/hr 🤣

I filed the request for the locate service so I can have someone come dig since I'm not looking forward to the idea of hand digging 3'+ to get to the main water line.

There comes a time when it becomes worth it...

I think having someone come dig shit up will be worth it... But it also may mean I'm without water for a week or longer.
