I put the front up on stands today to chase the noise in the right front. I found a bad tie-rod end where it connects to the drag arm so I replaced that and just took a bumpy test run and I'm still picking up a muffled noise. The sway links and shocks all seem tight, then I grabbed every other component and nothing stands out.

The tie-rod end definately made a difference but something is still pissing me off.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Grab each end of tat trac bar while someone moves the steering wheel back and forth!

Grabbing ain't the best way to find worn parts. Have someone turn the wheel back and forth (with jeep on the ground), as mentioned above, while you sit under the jeep and check each joint for play.

Any symptoms besides jiggle noise? How are the ball joints? U-joints? Severely worn u-joints will rattle in the caps.

No other symptoms now that the tie-rod end was replaced, I visually checked the u-joints today which is pretty much all you can do without pulling the axles.

I'll get under there with someone at the wheel and give it the once over.

Grabbing means feeling each end as it is moved. If there is play you will feel it before you see and maybe hear it. I don't mean grab it in the center of the baro_O put your fingers on the end.

I was referring to the OP when he said "grabbed every other component". I've seen alot of people say they grab and jerk to feel for looseness but that usually doesn't work and I thought he was doing that. What you said is right BUT gotta be careful of moving parts.

Indeed! Do not stick your fingers in pitch parts! You will not do it twice. At least with the same fingers!
