Started A New Project

We do a lot of skiing out in New Mexico, my wifes cousin lives in Santa Fe so we usually spend Christmas out there every few years, Santa Fe ski basin is one of those little known places about 20 minutes away and Taos is only an hour. Santa Fe is one of those climates that a lot of snow but it never really seems cold.

I grew up skiing almost ever weekend in Vermont but now it's time to move away from the snow.

At least in Oregon if there is any real desire to see snow it's never to far away.

What kills me is that I had just replaced/upgraded my ski gear the season before I got married. New Nordica memory foam boots, new K2 skis, etc.

My wife did let me go skiing once with the guys after we got married. We went to Taos New Mexico as mentioned above by TJ4Jim. Taos has some of the most awesome skiing I've ever experienced and the town is beautiful, it was modeled after a Swiss village. Taos is so high that it will have good powder snow when nowhere else does. Some of the runs in Taos scared the bejesus out of me, there are a lot of really steep expert level runs there.

Been there in Taos many times over the years and always enjoyed walking around the central square and visiting all the artisan outlets, well we were there for Christmas 3 years ago and went up to Taos skiing and I could not even find the central square thru all the hotels and commercial crap that was built. Now it's all traffic and tourist crap.

The snow here in Oregon stinks, trust me. It's nothing like the plush snow you get in Utah and Colorado. I attribute it to the air that comes it from the sea (since Oregon is a coastal state).

Started phase II today with a new Track Bar, Stabilizer bushings and links, tomorrow I'm going to tackle the front lower control arms and the uppers if the lowers cooperate.

It was probably just the fact that I was replacing mine with adjustable control arms, and trying to adjust them while maneuvering the axle back and forth is kind of a pain in the butt (especially since that axle is heavy). Just replacing one stock control arm at a time wouldn't be a big deal at all. Just have a pry bar to pry them out of there, since the stock ones may very well be wedged in there pretty good.

Had to put the control arms on hold as the first bolt on the lower came out clean but the second one started to twist so rather than snap it off without a replacement I ordered all new from Bolt Depot. So next weekend now.

Yeah I don't mind snapping them, unfortunately nothing local on Labor Day to replace them.

Yep, the first one came right out with the pneumatic impact gun but the second one would not budge so I hit it with the 3/4 drive ratchet that's about 2 feet long and it moved but not the right sounds.
