2.5" lift springs rear. 3.5 front because I put a big winch on. Before and after. I have clearance now. It is sitting on the 1.5" extended bumpstop in rear flexed.
No problems in front

I know some don't agree. It is working for me.

Looks nice and those flat flares are pretty sturdy in my experience. (Way different than BW’s pocket flares.) I like them on XJ’s too.

Functionally, looks like you gained quite a bit of clearance in the rear between the first and second pics?

If so, i dig it. 👍🏻

Speaking from hard won experience...are your rest bump stops set to keep your wheels from getting into the arch... that's a really sharp edge.

What's your experience? If I wanted the illusion of something that wasn't real, I'd go see a David Blaine show (no relation to mrblaine that I know of).

So you have no more clearance than stock with the Bushcracker flares and almost no uptravel and that’s described as working for you?

2.5" lift springs. 1.5" spacer on the bumpstop which at rest not flexed gives me just over 4" uptravel between the bumpstop and bottoming pad. Noting that the tire is a certain distance outboard of the bumpstop that translates into 7" of uptravel top of tire to inner fender before the bumpstop hits and prevents damage.

The problem I had before the flat fenders was the tire getting into the stock fender and bulging it out as you note in the before picture.

So yes 7" of uptravel and great droop is working for me. Is this better than stock spring travel without a extended bumpstop? I don't have a stock tj to measure so I can only give you the facts I have on mine.

You don't have 7" of up travel and great droop. One or both of those assertions is not accurate.

The flat flair is an illusion of clearance. You still have the metal lip the will hit the tire before the flat flair.

You would have been better to go with a 2 1/2 spring lift and 1 1/4 body lift.

Just my opinion. You can take that and a 10 spot to Starbucks and get a cup of something.

The other side from the side going up. Looks good to me for not being a long arm setup. 2.5 springs, stock control arms.

Good for what it is. If I was going to go full out I would do a long arm like my sons xj. Now that is some droop and uptravel.

I like how you are able to state numbers as fact on something you haven't actually measured.

Unfortunately that is one of the pitfalls of belonging to a highly intelligent species.

What is the first thing that causes interference when you cycle the suspension?

What you’re saying simply isn’t true. I think you’re using the word uptravel incorrectly.

I know a few things about what is being bandied about here.

True, my extended bumpstop prevents that. So yes it does look like more clerance than there is if just looking at the outside not the inside. Flexed I am off the sharp lip. No body lift for now.

Could it possibly be because @jjvw has done more than one or two of these.

And go ahead and long arm it because that's not the answer either

definitely more flex and droop than my setup. Not a apples to apples comparison. Just you saying yours is better than mine which it is. That has nothing to do with my original post.

I was just sharing how I solved a problem.

You should prob start a thread titled "Who thinks they have a better setup than me?"

That would prob be a more appropriate place to flex your ego. People who are secure in there abilities and accomplishments don't feel the need to flex.

Everything I have learned over the last decade did not happen in a vacuum or overnight. I know a few things about how suspension and tire clearances work. And what I know directly applies to your flares.
